Alright, I've had my AP for a few weeks now and I have been enjoying it. One thing I noticed that I did not know before purchasing the ap was that if you keep the AP plugged in (I always view live data while I am driving, I have it mounted on a windshield cell phone mount beside the gauges) that it will not turn off when you turn the car off. I always unplug it enough to where the wire doesn't fall down hanging on the dash, but enough to where it cuts the AP off. Will leaving the AP plugged in to the port kill the battery to the car? I wished it would turn off and on with the car because its annoying having to plug it up everytime I drive the car. If it won't hurt the battery to the car, then I will just keep it plugged up everytime. Please forgive my noobness.

no it wont. i used to leave mine plugged in but i suggest you dont do it. i burnt the sprocket symbols in the screen when i was gone for a few days. unplug it from the obd2 side. its easier and the ap can stay where it sits untouched.

how did it burn the sprocket symbols?? Hmm, its annoying having to unplug and plug it in everytime. So you sure it won't kill the battery. There was never anything in the instructions saying "please unplug device before turning the car off" or something like that.

I'm not sure how the AP works...Does the AP pull its power from the OBD2 port? Or is it wired in elsewhere?

If it's wired in for power, you could splice it into a source that is switched on/off by the key.

good call on the part. i may need to pick something like this up....or maybe ill just buy a little on/off switch and splice one in. idk yet.

hmm i wonder how we would be able to to splice into that chord, I would hate to mess with it since that chord is vital for the ap to work correctly. If we could splice in to a certain source to make it turn off and on with the car, that would be awesome.
