stupid cobalt ss

I doubt it was a new turbo cobalt... C&D ran a 13.8 @ 103mph in thier stock test car... I know for a fact that the MS3's will eat an S/C cobalt alive tho.

I had a chance to burn a Cobalt SS last night. I came up on him from behind at about 48mph. I noticed the wang first. That's such a ghey wang. Well, I blasted him from the rolling 48 and he burned off some oil catching up, we got caught at a light.

Here's where it's not street racing.

He rolled his window down smiling and I did the same. I said, "Man, I'd love to drag but I promised my fiancee I wouldn't with her in the back," pointing to my 6 y/o. He nodded, "That's cool, man. Damn!" We both laughed. I left and he oil-burned his little ricer self away with his wang.

The 6 y/o proceeded to demand why I wouldn't race and I explained how I promised mommy I wouldn't. Then when we got home it paid off b/c she told mommy I wouldn't race because I promised not too, and I didn't even coach the tattle. :) Brownie points! LOL

lol ,i burn Cobalt SS's all the time.. they had one come next to me and i drop from 3 to 2nd and burned him bad by about 5 cars, he caught up at light and was like wow, that thing is quick. Then he went on to explain to me that his was still stock so.. i looked over and said.. mine is too.... man he didnt like that .. lol..

Ha-ha, that's the same excuse I get from every one as well "Mine is still stock" that's what all the G35 /G37 ppl love to tell me as well. Seriously man, this car is hella quick from a roll. It's 1/4 mile times to reflect what it can do to other cars once it's already rolling, especially in 3rd gear.
The 2.3l DISI Turbo motor in a car like the Maita will do bad things.

the new turbo cobalt claimed 14.0 quarter mile and 5.7 0-60. car weigh 2900 pounds or so. i think the only reason the car is getting the extra .1 on the times is because it has the "no lift s***" feature and 2step launch. plus the 200lbs less

Well the published times for the MS3 range from: 14.0 - 14.5 in the 1/4 and 5.3 - 6.1 0-60. - Cars capabilties are highly dependent on the driver.

They can't use that two step its set to 5k. Not functional in the least. Also the cobalts weight 3000 with out driver.

i saw 2900, http://youtube.com/watch?v=el8_PMf0Zak no launch controL? watch the video of the demonstration. also the video of the nurburgring track time shows the race driver WOT shifting the entire time. i think its safe to say their feature are fully functional. i also read that the new turbo cobalts are going to be pushing max psi of 21 and imho i think these motors will start popping once the boost gets turned up and people start modding without a rebuild

- ms3007, the most ive seen the ms3 rated was 14.1 1/4 and 5.8. i never saw anyone claim 5.3 in magazines so i duno what ur sources are.

In May of '07 Car and Driver achieved a 14flat @101 1/4 and 5.4 0-60

Mazda's website shows 0-60 in 5.6

Magazine numbers are relevant when it's convenient to you, and meaningless when it's convenient to you. Could you at least try to be consistent? Please?

Could you at least try to stop obsessing over me? Please? You're full of s*** anyway. - When you try to convince ppl that a G35 will walk a Mazdaspeed3 from a 3rd roll because it's got a slightly quicker 1/4 due to RWD and full power in 1st and 2nd gear you make yourself look kind of silly. Honestly man I'm really tired of your moronic behavior on the forum and so are countless other members. Just stop trying to stir up drama all the time and it'll be alright.

Any ways it's pretty obviously the Mag #'s are extremely close between the Speed3 vs. the New cobalt ss. However, I do believe the New cobalt will have a ever so slight edge in handling. I think a speed3 would need a full coilover suspension and gripper tires to match the cobalt on a road course with mulitiple sharp corners, etc.

I gave you numbers (from a magazine) for a 40 - 120 roll, and you completely ignored them, but you're living off mag numbers right here in this thread. 4/10ths in a 1/4 is not "slightly quicker", if we had the Cobalt by 4/10ths when comparing the best runs you can find, you'd be all over how badly we'd "walk" the new SS/TC. I could have brought up the Motor Trend article comparing the G35 to the BMW 335 (and winning...!) but you'd just have ignored it. You are entirely inconsistent. I'd ignore it and you, but you're everywhere.

If was I was on a highway and playing around with an SS/TC, an new G35 or even the G37, a 335, an SRT-4, or any other quick car, if I won I'd think to myself "Cool." If I lost I'd think to myself "Cool." The way you talk about cars (and especially the MS3) I can't help but think that if you won you'd think "Damn straight, bitches!", and if you lost you'd think "That is bulls***, no WAY could it take me on a third gear roll, that is CRAP, no way was it stock!" And I still think you overestimate how fast our vehicle is. Fast, yes, but the be all and end all... no.

I have this to say. The MS3 is fastest car I've ever owned...I just can't shift the damn thing for s***. And knowing is half the battle! Go Joe!

And now for something completely different
