And now for something completely different

This has just turned into an all-out flame war!

(screwy)

I gave you numbers (from a magazine) for a 40 - 120 roll, and you completely ignored them, but you're living off mag numbers right here in this thread. 4/10ths in a 1/4 is not "slightly quicker", if we had the Cobalt by 4/10ths when comparing the best runs you can find, you'd be all over how badly we'd "walk" the new SS/TC. I could have brought up the Motor Trend article comparing the G35 to the BMW 335 (and winning...!) but you'd just have ignored it. You are entirely inconsistent. I'd ignore it and you, but you're everywhere.

If was I was on a highway and playing around with an SS/TC, an new G35 or even the G37, a 335, an SRT-4, or any other quick car, if I won I'd think to myself "Cool." If I lost I'd think to myself "Cool." The way you talk about cars (and especially the MS3) I can't help but think that if you won you'd think "Damn straight, bitches!", and if you lost you'd think "That is bulls***, no WAY could it take me on a third gear roll, that is CRAP, no way was it stock!" And I still think you overestimate how fast our vehicle is. Fast, yes, but the be all and end all... no.

For the sake of agrument and the fact I'm flat out tired of proving you wrong over and over and over again. I will leave it at that.

2008 Mazdaspeed 3
2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
Faces Four Forced-Induction Fours and a High-RPM Honda

2008 Mazdaspeed 3

The Mazda 3 is four years old, yet it remains one of the world’s best compact cars. Not surprisingly, it provides the basis for one of the world’s best sport-compacts: the Mazdaspeed 3.

Available only as a slickly styled five-door, the Mazdaspeed 3 has repeatedly appeared on our 10Best Cars list, thanks to its gifted chassis, spot-on steering (at least when the pedal isn’t being mashed), and fantastic brakes.

In the world of power, the Mazdaspeed 3 and the Cobalt SS are closely matched. Mazda’s 2.3-liter turbo four makes 263 horsepower and a class-leading 280 pound-feet of torque. From a stop, the Cobalt SS just tails the Mazdaspeed 3. The Mazda hits 60 in 5.4 seconds, just 0.3 second sooner than the Cobalt. The Mazda makes history of the quarter in less time, too, although the Cobalt’s launch control and no-lift shifting might ultimately render it the most fun along the way.

Is the new Cobalt SS good enough to join the Mazdaspeed 3 as a 10Best Cars honoree? We’ll find out this fall. What’s refreshing in any case is that the Cobalt SS is now worthy of consideration.

And, for that matter, its SS badge.

proving you wrong over and over and over again
*sigh* You haven't done this even once. Not that I am incapable of being wrong or too proud to admit when I'm wrong, it's just that you generally don't "prove" anything. "I'm right, QED, your data isn't valid," isn't proof, man. It's you being an ass. You cherry pick data to support you, ignore other data that refutes you, and generally don't go for the whole "empirical evidence" angle when you're debating the merits of vehicles. As a result, it's really frustrating to try and discuss any vehicle when you're involved.

I'm a little confused here, though. Do you think I'm saying the new Cobalt is faster, or something?

Dude, stop shitting on the OP's thread with this non- sense. Drop it already! You obviously have a personal issue with me so just send me a PM. This is really stupid that you keep instigating crap causing threads to go to the dumpster because you have a throbbing hard –on for me.

we got our first 3 in last week. they already sold. the brembo's on the front are sooooo nice. i love the car and the motor, plus the on demand tuned suspension. but i still am not a big fan of the bodystyle. just like a srt4 is still a neon, it's still a cavalier to me.

C'mon man you can't say you have proved him wrong over and over again...

The only way you can prove Happy and Angry wrong (or at least bring a good argument) is to provide real DATA. Not anecdotal data like "i beat him in a race so my car is faster"

This isn't an attempt to fan the flames...I am just trying to explain to you why H and A picks apart all of your posts.

Happy and Angry> I appreciate how you always bring hard data (from controled experiments) to the discussion...but jeeze you know how this dude reacts...tone it down a bit maybe?

BUT bottom line for me...
I like the threads where you two go at it...its entertaining AND more importantly usually ends up being pretty informative for me...but what the hell do I know...I bought and Audi(rlaugh)

I also bring DATA to the table, so that's not fair either. I'm glad you're learning stuff btw :)

H & A just doesn't like my DATA - bottom line

Honestly guys, lets stop the f'n flame wars! If we have an "issue" with someone lets just stick to pm's

i feel the same way about racing "on track", if i win its cool if i lose its cool too. either way its a rush and it feels good

It is amazing how many ms3 threads get deleted. So imo, memorize the info on this thread because more then likely this one is getting canned as well.
