stupid cobalt ss

Dude I do not care if the cobalt/CAVAQUEER ran 13's stock and cost only 15k
that car is ugly and IMSO (superior opinion lmao) the fit and finish, let alone the materials used in the Chevy are horrible. Sure it might be a polished turd but in comparrison to the Speed3 or to me any mazda the quality is lacking.

Just like the last model mustang gt, sure they are faster then most mazdas, my buddy had one and the two tone door panels didnt even line up properly and I seen that in many stangs, chevy is no better when it comes to build materials

and ok so your chevy didnt squeak or blah blah like your mazda, ive been to some forums about coblats and cavaqueers and see far more issues then a squeaky suspension.

<~~~~~~~~~~ Had a cobalt ss supercharged.
I remember darksun from the cobalt forums.Anyways I had over 30 repairs on my cobalt and I am not kidding. My cobalt had rattles on the dash, discoloring wheels, broken valves, water inside the headlights, defective throttle body and not to mention a broken sunroof switch 2 times and it goes on and on. Yes it was great because of the whine and it got me pulled over more times (because of the wing, no tickets were never issued though) but I had a bad experience with it, I even got two free years of extended warranty straight from gm because of the extensive repairs. Two of my friends currently own an SS supercharged and they never had a single problem with it, the car is great, I just had bad luck with it just like darksun is having bad luck with his ms3. But I do like my ms3 better because of interior quality and it is also better built, I would never trade my ms3 to go back to a cobalt my 2 cents.

P.S. Cobalt has the weakest clutch ive ever seen on a stock vehicle.... u cant launch worth of crap!

Why did you buy an MS3 if you prefer your cobalt?
Regardless to what you say, my opinion remains, not trying to pick fights, just how I feel.
MS3 ftw.

Because cabin nosies, squeaky suspension, smoking turbos, and voided warranties weren't listed in the brochure I read before I bought the car......

We'll I've had bad luck in both cars. There the same s*** when it boils down. ss/sc cobalt being slower. Once the turbo cobalt comes out there both just as bad but now both cars have similar power capabilities. Who ever boought an MS3 thinking its worlds better than a cobalt needs to get over them selves. I keep going through the pros and cons and it always evens out for the most part.

With your luck I could understand

Not to be insulting, or start something going, but have you ever stopped and thought perhaps there are some driving techniques your using, especially when running it "hard" that have contributed to the situation your in with both the cobalt and the ms3?

I am treating this with kid gloves considering how we all are about our "driving" etc... but with 2 cars in a row having severe mechanical issues perhaps there is more to it?

Anything mechanical if treated harshly has a way of getting even in the long run.

+1

How "Modded" were you? And did you get a "tune" for all your mods?

liking a car is purely subjective. i know there are some guys that will only "buy america". for them a GM sports coupe like the cobalt is a good thing. for me, something about the MS3 just got my juices flowing. so i bought one.

as far as what car is faster we wont really know. driver is the biggest factor. on the track, i have passed brand new GT3's, ZO6's, and yes, plenty of STI's. (this is with my almost stock 81 911SC). on the flip side, i have been handed my butt from miatas, and this one guy in very early porsche 912. OUCH! this one guy last year smoked me with his black MS3 at laguna seca. it was the defining moment that got me interested in this car!

i am a paranoid person, i dont take any bait on the streets. tracktime is my vent.

That's awesome you have the reserve to not take the bait on the streets. My self on the other hand, well lets just say I give in to temptation from time to time. (Most likely not as bad as you might think)

I think I need to get into legal racing other than just running 1/4's at the local strip.

MY ms3 hasn't had any severe mechanical problems what are you talking about? Bad luck with a car has to be something mechanical?

the ******* rattling coming outta my dash that I asked the dealer to fix, the way the car handles, tire wear life on stock tires, gas milage I get pertank, foggy windows in cold weather that never seems to go away on the side view mirrors, cd player that cant play mp3 discs, the creek outta my suspension when its cold, my tire pressure monitoring system ALWYAS going off even with multipul trips to the dealer for it those are some of my pains about this car. Non cause of my supposed "Bad" driving habits.....

Sounds like you got a "Bad apple" I would be mad as hell!

My cobalt had the sunroof trim break off the 2nd day i had the car(TSB), paint peeling on the door trims(TSB) Axle seal always clicking even after the dealer replaced the axle AND seal, Clutch sucked when trying to drive normal but mine held 262 whp fantastic. Cheap ass leather seats that wore down and stretched very quickly, Failed lifter (tsb) that granaded my valve train, Lack of part supplies that had me in a rental for 5 months waiting for a new trans after I had a crack in mine. (TSB) 2 new full exhaust systems and 5 cats total cause they kept getting clogged when i was stock. cobalt had Way more mechanical problems but again I had a first year cobalt all my firends with later years didn't have as many as me.
