Street Racing Bust Video

:wtf: the GANG unit! I didnt think civic nation was violent (no)

The summary at the end sure justifies the entire sting, what maybe 50 people out of 400 cars? Way to go piggy's! and they let 9 racers get away.

******* tools.

i think louisiana law on street racing is the harshest, if you participate in a race, you lose your car, even if you still owe money on it, they still seize it and you still have to pay for it. $1000.00 fine, and or 5 years in the slammer. if you are a spectator, just watching, you get a $500.00 fine and 80 hrs community service and or 6 months in the pen. to me a race is just not worth the consiquences of getting caught. i'll leave it on the track.

Well, if you think about it, half of those people were probably wanted or violent crime offenders. Notice that alot of them DID get away or let go easy, it's because they weren't looking for them or just gave them a citation. Besides, usually when you get a bust like that it's because they're not only looking for things in particular it's because the city has gotten alot of complaints from other citizens about it. I get calls all the time from people that have ruts in their yards, burn marks in their streets, hit and runs because the race went wrong and no one wanted to stick around for it. One guy we had at gun point had his friend in the car with him with internal injuries after he left the scene of an accident caused by racing. After he hit the other car, he took off not even caring about what happened to his friend or the other drivers. By time we caught up to him, his friend was doubled over in pain and holding his sides turning colors. Other quick stories you dont hear about... two seperate cars hit telephone polls, another car ran out of control and bashed a line of cars at a dealership, another race on the highway the guy hit the guardrail and the other car he was racing left him there.... the list goes on. This all happened within the last 6 months. This is a town of 80,000 people, not a big city, can you imagine the crap you DONT hear about?

And if G*d forbid, you wreck your car or someone causes you to wreck. How do you explain the accident to the cops "well, I was racing this guy, who left.... and...". You cant get an insurance claim if there's no police report. You had better be a good liar to the cops when your car is totalled. lol

And trust me, the officers would probably rather be doing something else with their time too.

**edit** this wasnt pointed at you babe in any way. But there were probably more important things going on in the city than some kids having fun in a closed street. Now someone grandma is dead because it took 25 min for a ****** cop to show up while she was gettin mugged.

i understand the requirement of stopping street racing - but they'll kill themselves off... stupidity will eventually irradicate itself.

If they wanted to stop it really badly, they would have sat there for 4-5 hours.. and get video of EVERYBODY racing, not just the first ones....

Or to discourage them from doing it.. just send in a couple cruisers to bust everything up and make everybody go home... after a few weekends of that, they'll all get fed up and stop racing there.

That's not true at all. They send cruisers every week to all the hot spots around here, and they just move on to the next one. Usually keep that up for about 4 hours then they get tired of it and go home, but they're back to the same place the next week.

we don't have much street racing around here.. maybe they should use tanks, and randomly destroy 1 car per week... gives the army people something to do and practice their tank-driving skills :)

And for the comments of racing and s*** like that being bigger in TX.. it's probably bigger in ANY southern state, cuz you get 12months of activity vs. the 5-6months you'd get in a northern states.. i haven't done a single mod to my car over 3 months :(

I live in a southern state. I've been to georgia races too. The videos and stories from texas are HUGE even compared to ATL.

not to say the racing scene is bigger in texas .. **** if i know. that saying is just a generic "were better than you" type.

... and it's true. texas pwns you. soon we will secede and take over everyone. cowboy hats and beltbuckles for all ...

I am pretty sure that if the cops were sitting there getting ready for the raid and watching them street race, and one of the cars lost control and hurt or killed a spectator or two, they cops could get sued. Wouldnt the cops be partially responsible for letting it happen, seeing as how they were watching them race and taking down license plate numbers the whole time?

Yeah, you're right like the ones that give you a hard time because your married to ME. lol Even GHOST has been known to street race. So when me or someone else takes extra long to get to your accident site, dont complain. I'll just tell them to give you extra IV's.

And there are different divisons inside the stations. But you should know this already. Patrol units, traffic cops, TACT team, Violent Crimes Task Force, CID, Vice/Narcotics, Gang Unit, etc. You think ALL of these guys are out there busting racers? Come on now. Just because you saw this one bust doesnt mean there havent been others going on at the same time. Each division has a different function, that was the gang units function that night. And I'm sure they've been working on it for a few weeks if not months. So no little old lady died when her purse got snatched dear. lol

This has probably been said before...

It is a crime isn't it? They are police right? So why is there a problem with what they did.
Swear being a cop is one profressional I would never consider just for the sheer lack of respect given to them. Honestly look at them, they get yelled at when anything happens. If one of those kids were killed while the police were out stopping a muging; they get yelled. If they were stopping the racing and the person gets mug; they get yelled at. People seem to b**** whenever they are "harassed" by the cops yet when they need turn a new leaf.

Street racing is a crime plain and simply and in some areas has been getting out of control. Therefore regardless if you believe they should or not the police are going to do their job; up holding the law and protection of the public. And since in areas the racing is endangering the public they have the right to bust some up. People not only sometimes race in public areas they will try to race each other in traffic during other days. Heance why also you start seeing cars getting pulled for exhausts. The more stupid acts people commit the more attention from the police. Keep the numbers down, keep it out of the public and in most cases the cops won't care.

And Honestly smoking weed in public?? And who knows what else was being done or delt there? Stupid acts only bring further unwanted attention.
