Well, if you think about it, half of those people were probably wanted or violent crime offenders. Notice that alot of them DID get away or let go easy, it's because they weren't looking for them or just gave them a citation. Besides, usually when you get a bust like that it's because they're not only looking for things in particular it's because the city has gotten alot of complaints from other citizens about it. I get calls all the time from people that have ruts in their yards, burn marks in their streets, hit and runs because the race went wrong and no one wanted to stick around for it. One guy we had at gun point had his friend in the car with him with internal injuries after he left the scene of an accident caused by racing. After he hit the other car, he took off not even caring about what happened to his friend or the other drivers. By time we caught up to him, his friend was doubled over in pain and holding his sides turning colors. Other quick stories you dont hear about... two seperate cars hit telephone polls, another car ran out of control and bashed a line of cars at a dealership, another race on the highway the guy hit the guardrail and the other car he was racing left him there.... the list goes on. This all happened within the last 6 months. This is a town of 80,000 people, not a big city, can you imagine the crap you DONT hear about?
And if G*d forbid, you wreck your car or someone causes you to wreck. How do you explain the accident to the cops "well, I was racing this guy, who left.... and...". You cant get an insurance claim if there's no police report. You had better be a good liar to the cops when your car is totalled. lol
And trust me, the officers would probably rather be doing something else with their time too.
