I got the brackets from Jared (Jrodhotrod) in Cali. They were originally sold by an online store that isn't around anymore. There is another company making brackets for our cars, but I can't rmember who it is. I'm taking the seats out tomorrow and taking some weight off the brackets by drilling some holes. There is a lot of unneeded metal there. I'll get a comparison between these and the stock seats after that. I'm waiting for a phone call from the engineer at KW Suspension to get the ball rolling on my coilovers. I need to get the car weighed and corner balanced in the next day or two so I can tell him those figures.

Working. He tried to get me to come down, but my team at work was already shorthanded. I was bummed, but I would have been no match for Steve Rankins and his STI anyway. He is a member of my local club so I get to race him every month. I've out PAXed him several times, but he has gotten really quick this season. I out Paxed him last month, but I was driving Zimmer's nationally prepped Rabbit. I can't touch him in anything else. He can get an AWD car through a course better than anyone I've seen.
 
So I started fiddling with the seat brackets again today. When I fiddle with things it means I work on them for hours and hours. The Momo seats didn't feel very light once I mounted everything up a few days ago so I took it all apart to see where I could lose some weight. The steel brackets that I got are seriously over engineered. They weighed 10lbs each when I started. I haven't finished "fiddling" with them yet, but they are down to 5lbs now (after about 5 hours of drilling holes). I got artisitic and countersunk all the holes so make it a little smoother. I can probably get another pound off each of them.

hahaha that is a lot of holes. I can't imagine the time that took... but it looks awesome and serves your purpose well :D
 
Speed holes for the win. That one right there is a bit off center, though.

The new seats with brackets weigh 25lbs each. I haven't weighed the stock seats yet. I'll try and take the car to the scales tomorrow and get a total weight.

When I pulled the passenger seat out a few days ago it didn't actually feel that heavy. I'll see if I can get a figure on it this weekend.
 
i know the stock seat/bracket/slider weigh less than the DND seats/brackets/sliders I had in the car.
 
Ok guys...few things are going up for sale in the next week or so. Biggest thing is a set of Delsing Camber Plates. Figured you guys might want first dibs on them since you can't buy them anymore. They will fit the stock shocks on the 3rd Gens. $300 shipped.
 
if i have suspension that uses the stock shockk mounts (TEINs) would these work for them?

I don't think the Teins use the same rod diameter. I could be wrong.
 
the TEINs used all the stock parts from the rubber mount to the strut mount. It used the stock hole the piston goes through and nut.

This is the setup I was running for about 6months on my boosted p5. Sounded mean as s***, but was asking for trouble from the authorities. Lots of vibration in the car.
 
How much of the car are you parting out? Wanna trade transmissions? (shady) I'd love to have your LSD. Its a shame your not gonna continue to race the protege 5.

I just assumed he wasn't racing it anymore since he's selling stuff. I should have read the rest of the thread more carefully. I have no idea what his plans for the car are. My bad... I am in the market for a LSD though.

he's upgrading his suspension, so that's probably why he's selling the camber kits
