Stray Cats-- Need Help

More than an annoyance, they're varment! And they are hosts of disease.

thought about it! the downsides are: 1.) it's cruel, 2.) there would be dead cats wreeking up the neighborhood.

that should be the first resort, since thats their job lol and if they cant take care of it then you should seek alternatives

(yes) It's unfortunate that these animals are bothering you, but animal control is trained to deal with them. Plus, there are health risks, rabies, FIV, feline leukemia, etc. and these cats need to be quarantined and if necessary, treated. Not to mention the fact that some dirtbag people let their cats out and didn't give a rat's ass about them. Blame the owners, not the cats.

And as a previous poster so eloquently mentioned antifreeze... please don't take that route.

lol I know, my original post requested alternatives that wouldn't land me into trouble with PETA. I'm an animal lover, but these cats are wearing me thin. I'll give animal control a call and keep everyone updated.

Best bet would be calling animal control, the stray cat population can triple in a year if it's not controlled.

yeah, my g-parents had the same problem, called animal control, they set traps, and they were teated and adopted in less than a month.

hahaha. A few times I thought about breaking out my air-soft gun, but the neighbors would go apeshit.

one of our cats got stuck in a tree once, just a little kitten, and spent the night there. the next morning, out comes the airsoft gun and hose. that little kitten would NOT move. note: i didn't hit the cat once, i aimed for the branches around him and never hit him. all the time my dad was soaking him with water. eventually he climbed down

Any rate, Just your regular garden variety black pepper keeps them away like you wouldn't believe. I had a problem with them pissing on one of my car covers. Circled it with crushed black pepper and never had a problem again. Animal control does sound like the better option but none the less, the pepper works.

If you dont want the cats there use mothballs under the deck , Cats dont like the smell and when they piss the urine reacts with the mothballs and the cats hate that smell even more .

I hate mothballs!
My mom is a clean freak and she has a habit put tons of mothballs in our drawers to prevent insects biting out clothes. But then all our clothes ended up with strong mothballs odor and I never wear them. Smell like the urinal in the men's room if you ask me.
