My car is less than 2 months old and last evening I noticed this spot on the paint on top of the drivers side window. It seems to be a drop of some chemical that might have dropped on the car while I was driving. The fact that it is trailing of to the back along the length of car makes me think that this may have happened while the car was moving.
Could the manual car wash have caused this?
I am looking for ideas on how to fix this. While it is not that big of a stain, I'd like to be able to fix it without causing a bigger mess.
1) Should I just let it be?
2) Is this something that I can fix myself with rubbing/buffing or should I take this to an expert?
3) Detailing experts - What will be cost of fixing something like this? I live in the Philly area...any recommendations of some shops?
Thanks for the help guys !

its a hard water stain.
try using some white vinegar and water to remove it, 1:1 ratio. then wax the area.
some water marks need to be polished to remove... but try the vinegar first.
Wow, that sucks. I've had this happen to one of my last cars. I got it buffed and polished and it looked FLAWLESS. Weeks later the spots came back. I tried vinegar and it didn't help... so I sold the car and bought my MS3. Although the spots I had covered the roof, trunk, and hood. It was bad.
Hard water/acid rain was believed to be the culprit.
Never used a claybar in my life. I could feel the stain lightly when I first touches it but after I tried removing it with water, now it feels smooth.
I wash the car manually in the wash bays where you can use the jet spray to soap it and rinse it. I only use soap, rinse water and spot-free rinse, then I wipe it down with a micro-fiber cloth.
