Hey over the weekend i heard about straight line kits. Is there one out there for the p5 cause id like one but cant find one. im also pretty dumb in this area, so dont rip me a new one for just asking something stupid
it replaces the line that runs from the gas pedal to the throttle body so that it dosent go through a bunch of pullys. If you have ever driven a focus thats why the response is so much better
Front motor mount is easy. 3 bolts...10 minutes with air tools. Back motor mount will take a couple of hours if you're good...probably not what you would want to get into. They help tremendously though. There are a bunch of threads floating around about motor mounts. A search would probably give you enough to read for several days.
Edit: I also just noticed that you have an Auto tranny. That pretty much blows throttle response right there. I lighter crank pulley would help you out and be pretty easy to install as well..
Yes you can do it without air tools, it'd just take more effort. The back ones make an appreciable difference but not nearly as much as the front ones coming from stock.
I wouldn't say a Focus has better throttle response. I had a 2001 ZTS before I bought the 5, and the gas was very stiff and jumpy -- not progressive at all.
Is this something Ford has implemented since the 2001 models?
