Stock Wheels Paint Chipping :(

Didn't see a post on this issue.

The paint on my stock wheels is chipping off of one of my wheels. There is not much paint missing but it pisses me off. Anyone had this problem? Anyone take it back to the dealer and if so did they fix it?

HELP!!!

have the problem :wtf: :bs: but I don't know if the dealer will do s*** about it. subscribes to thread

The polish could come off. :( My non polished wheels didn't have any chipping problems.

yeah mine are all tore up... if the dealer will do anything about it that would be sweet... but i dont see it happining.

I was just washing my car today and as i was washing my rims i saw it start happening in a few spots on my rims. ******* mazda. Damn my parent's BMW the dealership changes the wipers, blown out speakers, even the clutch, all while they wipe ur ass with top of the line toilet paper. If the dealership does anything about it let me know, otherwise, ITS TIME FOR RIMS!

Go down to Autozone and get some Duplicolor wheel paint. I painted mine graphite and they look great. I didn't do the best of job the first time, so I just redid them today.

It take an afternoon, but I really liked the difference that it made in appearance.

May even give you a few horsepower also. hehe

There's been other threads about this same topic.

About sandblasting, no, I didn't. However, I did use a very light sandpaper (400 grit) to take off some of the clear coat. If you don't do this then the paint won't stick very well.

I'm going to design something to put over 16" wheels that people want to paint so that they don't have to mask off the wheel. It's a pain in the arse, but worth it. I took my wheels off so I could also repaint my calipers.
