This might have been posted in another thread but i couldnt find anything.

so....

1. How many miles did your stock tires last you?
2. What tires did u replace the the stock ones with? recommendations?

Mucho Gracias

I took the OEM's off at 4,300 miles. I think they'd be good for 22K-25K (I don't beat the hell outa my car). Replaced them with Yokohama YK520s on RX-8 wheels.

I still have my factory tires. I am at 10,500 miles and they are fine.

I have taken my car to the track and I drive pretty aggressively so it could be assumed they could last at least 5,000 miles more. But like dcs191919 said, depends on how you drive.

Nevertheless, I am looking for a new set because the ones that came from the factory are ridiculously overpriced where I live; any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

replaced at 15k all four spent. Ok I beat them silly. Replaced wheels with 18/8 and Nitto 555 225/40. now at 29750 and still going with out rotation. I do not recommend these for dailys though!

23k so far and might make it to 30kmostly highway. I dont drive easy either, but I do more hard cornering than launching or spinning the tires. I'll be replacing them with another set of oe take-offs

nice nice bike the car must seem a dog. The car really is a good handler imo

I just replaced my factory tires with Potenza S-03 225/45 and I am loving them.

I got 21k out of the oem tires with one day of autocross school in there. I replaced them with Falken 452's 225/45-18. If I hit a big bump I get an extremely small amount of rubbing somewhere in the back wheel wells. They add a little squish to the ride and handling, but with some of the roads around here, it's what I needed. The 452's will squeal through a turn much more than oem, but the grip is good. I only have about 300 miles on them and haven't pushed them to where they break loose in a turn yet ( need to find an empty parking lot and see what they'll do...)

That is a good idea to find their limits in a safe area. It is pretty nice that some tires will talk to you before they break away. What are those Falkens speed rated for and how do they compare to the other tire from Falken that folks around here use as a performance tire. Azinis is it, i think 615.

The Falken 452's are speed rated Z or Y I think........ Anyway, they are a little cheaper than Azenis and should last longer. 452 treadwear rating is 300, Azenis is 200. The Azenis are probably a better tire for sport handling, but as I said above, I actually wanted something a little softer, cheaper, and longer lasting than the oem bridgestones - I think these meet the need, but I haven't had them long enough to really say for sure..........

Are you on stock springs? Just wondering because I'm looking to get the 452s when the stockers run out, but if they'r going to rub, I might consider a different size/tire.

I run 452 235/40R18 on stock suspension with no rubbing. That includes my commute on bad Michigan roads as well as several autox.

I'm gonna put on some Cobb springs pretty soon here and will roll the rear fenders when I do.

After I bought the 452's, I learned that Falken markets them as a "VIP" style, rather than "Sport" or whatever they call the Azenis. WTF is a VIP tire?

*edit Oh, I took my stockers off prematurely also, with only about 2k on them. I have about 5k on the Falkens and just rotated them after a trip to the strip a couple weeks ago. I don't feel any squishiness from these tires, rather I feel jarring impact harshness over frost heaves around here. Torque steer and tramlining worsened after I put these tires on but I think that has as much to do with the width/grip increase as the tire itself.

I thought the vip, is a look as compared to performance. Vip cars usually are luxury focused on style pieces. no motor work and the lowered suspension should not be harsh. A car to take clubbing I suppose. imo

Hey guys do you think that having H rated tires on our car is dangerous? ours is rated W. H=130 mph Y=150 mph W=160 mph Help please...
