stock motor mount issues possibly

Hey need help on this one... the other night at the track when i launched the car I heard a BANG BANG ... (not a chitty chitty bang bang but one of those oh s*** bang bangs) I told myself i back fired I ran the rest of the night but I never ran as fast as I usually do again.

I ran tonight and I consistently ran slower than normal and my second launch going from first to second i heard a thud again like something wasn't right. I can't put my finger on it.

Later I put the car in gear and pulled on the ebrake and it appeared the motor rocked A LOT more than I've ever seen it. It was dark so I couldn't look myself ... any thoughts guys?? I almost hope the rear motor mount broke or cracked so that I know what that noise was ...

I know what you'll all say get an upgrade but if the stocker isn't broke what the hell could it be... I may post a vid tomorrow of the engine travel I got...

did any you hear something go and if so was it loud? Did you notice excessive travel when the engine was under load? I swear I can hear a thud when I romp on it I'm wonder if the engine is hitting the hood or thuding when it comes back down ...
Hopefully I can get under it tonight and I HOPE that's what it is otherwise i'm going to continue to be paranoid....thanks for the updates
 
If i upgrade looks like a lot of people are very happy with the TRZ dogbone.... I was looking at the street unit, but if I go with the TRZ is there a preference out there for poly or delrin? It is my daily driver with an occasional trip to the track so that being said ....
 
At least the mm is a cheap and easy fix, it sure sounds like the mm. I've had my TRZ poly in for 3k miles now and still like it a lot. I may have gotten used to it more or supposedly they "break in" but its a good feel as a daily driver, I havent been to a track yet.

Go with poly for less vibs.
 
Sounds like you race so go with 88 dur or higher. AWR is spittin image to the stock mount and cheaper than the rest. How is your shift to 3rd right now? Must be bad!
 
I bought the TRZ dog bone ... seemed like numerous people are running with it. Same price... we'll see how it goes.
 
thanks dude! ... I got the poly. i do like to race it but its still my daily driver crappy combo. I figure anything is better then stock and I'm mad at myself for not upgrading earlier. My goal racing is to improve my skills before I just packing more horsepower that I can't control. I can't take the shifting anymore so this fall/winter I was going to do the mount, bushings & short shifter all in one swoop.

I hope this solves problems I'm wicked pumped hope it doesn't take too long to arrive from protegegarage.com. I also bit the bullet and I'm bringing it to the dealer just to have them look it over.
 
The motor mount and shifter bushings are the major things you need, the short shifter is nice, I have it, but the major difference is with the other two.

Haha sorry I had to laugh when you said you hope it doesnt take long from PG... Good luck with that. I could have walked to chicago from detroit and picked it up in the time it took to get mine.

Anyway you'll enjoy it a lot and wonder even more why you didnt upgrade earlier.
 
inspected it over the weekend. It appears to be intact however I didn't go through the effort of removing it ... yet ... muuwaaahahahahah!!!
