Sticker glue removal

I hate how all dealerships want to turn your car into a rolling billboard for them. So, I peeled off the stickers that advertise the dealer off of the trunk lid, but it left some glue residue. I probably can rub it off eventually with my fingers, but I wanted to know if there's any compound or technique to take the glue off safely without fokking up my paint. Thanks.

I know I will probably get flamed for this, but, believe it or not, gasoline works great on decal adhesive. Make sure you wax it after. Lighty soak a cloth and press, don't wipe, across the area in question.

how about varsol? i don't know if that'll damage your paint though....you should look into that.

I used alcohol on mine, worked like a charm.

3M makes a adhesive remover for automobiles.

Works great, used it on mine. and i hate how dealerships put those damn stickers on their cars. i understand why they do it but its just a pain and it looks terrible.

I've heard that wd40 works wonders on the glue without damaging your car...seriously

WD40 or peanut butter. Strange as it sounds, both do work.

Mcguires Paint Cleaner (Step 1 of 3 step: cleaner, polish, wax) available at any Pepboys or autozone works great. I had the same problem with a factory sticker on my front bumper I found when removing my license plate. Takes 2 seconds and leaves the paint looking perfect.

I used Goo-Gone.

The other thing to do is tell the dealer when you are buying your car that you will not buy the car if it has a dealer sticker on it.
My parents did that with our Escape and it worked great.

go get some Goo Gone from Lowes or Home Depot. It works wonders on all types of sticky s***, and smells like oranges. Can't beat that...
