stick shift cx-7

I wish it did have a stick shift ... I definitely would have bought. I'm not sure why so few of the SUV/CUVs come with manual transmissions. Just this week I received an e-mail customer satisfaction survey from MNAO and suggested that they produce a model with a 5- or 6-speed manual. We'll see ...

That is the one thing I wanted with this car a stick.

I prefer sticks to autos anyway. But with a turbo the ability to get it up to boost when you want is much easier.

The manual shift on this car is only so so. It has a lazy shift when you bang a gear. Which means you have to shift well before you want to or it will try to overrev the engine. Also I have commanded it to short shift trying to get mileage and it would not shift up. It also downshifted a few approaching a light. WHAT PART OF MANUAL SHIFT does MAZDA (flame) not understande? It started doing that after the Eprom was flashed.

My wifes Subaru's manual mode is way better. You hit it it bangs into that gear right now! It will not auto down shift on its own. It will go up if you command it to.

Still a stick would be much better for me.

So if anyone hears of a company who makes a shift kit like I used in my Drag cars with automantics let me know as just getting rid of the lazy shifting would be a big plus...

In the old days of my GTOs and Firebirds I would pull the tranny, put a full manual reverse valve body in it, a 4,000 rpm torque converter and a Hurst Quarter stick and it was time to play. My race only GTO also received a nice trans Brake to insure nice wheels up launches... (drive)

But with all the places the engine computer controls, you can't do that with this thing...

I did the same.

The adrenaline from mazda haves a Mazdaspeed6 tranny, I'm going to wait until I buy a car for my wife so I can keep the CX-7 I have a bigger turbo, fmic, profec b boost controller, a person who makes custom turbo manifolds ,and all the tools and knowledge so far, I just need the tranny and a programmable ecu, wich is not that easy, ms6 tranny are still EXPENSIVE and no local junker haves them (bang)
