Steering Column Gauge Pod

I'm thinking three weeks, I will apply for AMM status and they will be ready to ship. No gauging (no pun intended) interest threads or any minimum oder numbers. It'll be a pay me and you'll get it thing. I am investing a bit in this, hopefully I'll break even at least. I'll have prices in about a week and a half.

ooooo cool i just ordered a boost gauge good news! Will this be in the hundred dollar range.. higher, lower? i know this is your own work on your own time i was just wondering.

wow, great job on finally bringing this back to the market...there's always been a demand for these things since they stopped being produced...

I don't like stuff mounted like that... It's just not very clean.

I still need a steering pod for a wideband.

You could get a carbon fiber gauge cup and mount it. I think it looks cleaner than the standrad plastic ones. You could just mount it with high strength adhesive so you can remove it whenever you want

That is how mine is.

The gauge pod has a different texture than the stock one and I do not like that. I also do not like pillar pods.

For now I like it.
I used an autometer cup without the mounting part.

I too dislike pillar pods. I have mine mounted below my radio. I want them all to be by my steering wheel so i can put a 7" lcd in the DIN spot, so i'm anxiously awaiting the new MAM pods to come out.

Is MAM actually working on these? Do they have an ETA? If not I would like to know so I can go other routes. I have been waiting on it seems a million people who were going to "make" these :)

MAM is still trying to produce these, but the mold is crazy expensive, and trying to get someone to do it in a timely manner is not really easy. Plus the shop move, and people bitching about not having their parts, its time consuming. Once the new shop opens, and things settle down there will be gauge pods made.

I understand all the issues, I just want the "comfort" that something is being played with so I can be patient enough to wait instead of figuring something else out to do.

Tach Mount

I used an Autometer black, metal mounting cup bolted to the upper steering column cover to mount my digital tach. I didn't want to use a pod since it's centered and therefore pretty much obscures the speedometer. I attached the cup offset to the right so that most of the speedo markings (from 0-100 MPH) are easily visible while the remainder at the high end can be viewed by a slight shift of my head.

An additional benefit is that should I ever want to return to stock, the drilled out upper column cover can simply be replaced with a new one eliminating all signs of the mod.

BTW, I have a DX so no tach. I didn't want to replace the gauge cluster because I much prefer a digital tach to one that's analog.

The first photo shows the tach at idle; the second illustrates the tach face at rest with the mounting bolts painted black to match the cup-a definite improvement in appearance.
