steedspeed manifold

I have a steed speed manifold that has "Mazda speed" engraved on the front rather than steed speed. Aside from that its identical to every other one out there. Any story behind that?

I think that one or some of the very first Steedspeed manifolds had "Mazdaspeed" engraved on them.
