Startup Hesitation after sitting for a few hours?

So lately since its been "warmer" out, ive been having a problem when i go out to start my car in the mornings or after it sits for 5 or 6 hours. I start it and it seems to hesitate after i turn the key and then it fires over. I dont have any mods done to the car except removing the resinators and muffler.

Does this happen to everyone else with the speeds or is it just me. My sister has a regular 3 and it doesnt do it to her car.

Some 2cents would be great from anyone. I wanna know if this is a problem i need to go to the dealer for.

Thanks
Kenny

Mines been running rougher in the morning.. feels like a misfire to me. Did it on the highway today too when I went to pass someone in 6th gear. Gonna need to tell the dealership next time I bring it in.

I'm confused as to what you are trying to explain here. Do you turn the key and it takes a second for the engine to kick over? Or you start the car and it has a hesitation before warming up?

Try new plugs or regapping your old ones.

I'd go to the dealer immdiately and get it checked out. If you have an injector going bad you could do some serious harm to your motor.

try turning the ignition once before you start it and leave it there for about 2-3 seconds then start it.

I've been noticing the same problem here as well. I always have the ignition on for a couple of seconds before I finally crank it over so it hasn't made a difference for me. It's like the engine briefly chokes for a split second before firing up.

Same Problem

I have noticed this being a problem in the last few weeks, which are warmer, as well. The battery is fine and I don't think the spark plugs are fouled.

mine does it too....

and i got a WOT rattle... that someone suggested might be bad injector seals...

and i am running rich,.,, -10 , -13 or so LTFT at idle

i got to get that s*** checked out asap

mines doing the same thing, only started doin it when it got warmer out, idk wut it is, gettin it tuned soon so ill ask the cobb tuner whos doin it..

I'm having the same problem, just replaced the plugs hoping that might do it, but no luck. Any advise would be helpful...

I have 1-step colder Denso's I put in a month ago. In the last 1.5 wks I've had this problem in the morning only on cold start ups.

I did not have this problem last summer as far as I can tell.

My fear is an injector someone had suggested this to me.
41K miles.

Mine does it also. Would it have anything to do with TSB 01-022/08, Rough Idle, lack of power, and or MIL on with DTC P2177...? Affects VINS lower than 859606, produced before Nov 22 2007. My MS3 falls within this VIN.

Apparently caused by delayed fuel pressure build up from the high-pressure fuel pump. PCM software has been change, and the pump might have to be replaced...

Hmmm mine falls into this VIN series as well..

^^

Had the PCM reflash done sometime last summer so I don't think that's the problem with mine.

It's kinda random, I've been mostly getting it in the morning on the first start but it happens from time to time when I let the car sit for prolonged periods like 5+ hours.

well i having a problem with my car turning on. i had surgery and i tryed to start my car and the battery was dead i have gauges boost controller and a v-1 radar. after charging battery i waited two days later i was having a hard time to crank but it finally cranked

Dealer could not find an issue. Suggested something like a seafoam. Said the fuel injectors can get excessive carbon build up. I have 42K miles. I had one performed at about 30 K .... so we'll see if this helps. I hope.
