just do the poll.
do u guys/gals think that the SRT-4 is a low quality car(cheaply made), so that it whould keep the cost of the car down.

Of course! It's a Dodge!!!!If the car was made by Nissan or Toyota,I'd definitey get it.But it's a Dodge,so I'd refrain from a purchase.Let's face it guys, America is a great country but the majority of the cars built here are big steaming piles of s***! .

I used to think the same way.....I'm a HUGE hater of american cars......I wouldn't drive a Neon if you gave me one.....but after article after article of nothing but praise from professional car testers I had to check for myself.........and I was so impressed that I bought one. I'm still not convinced that it will hold up for 100k miles or anything like a Honda but so far the SRT's are holding together like rocks.....and they are driven HARD every day.......that car doesn't let itself be babied....it's balls out all the time :)

Shouldn't the thread read is the neon cheaply made? Yes, it's an economy car. I don't think the SRT4 is put together any worse than a regular neon though. Dodge and Daimler-Chrysler in general are both VERY good at playing profit margins. If they didn't think it would be viable at that price point they wouldn't have done it. AND yes this thread is gay.

Nice troll Voodooguru! You rock!

proteges weren't built by FORD...the only thing from FORD that is used in the protege is probably the ECU and some s***...the rest of the car is made in japan by MAZDA...yeah MAZDA

exactly...
the new 3 is made in usa if im not mistaken but the MP5 is all 100% from japan. i think that there is 2% of the car that wasnt put together in japan but in US.

snowman4us- and you think proteges are non cheaply made? you can get a msp for what 16k now? so i would ask you the same question do you think the proteges are built cheaply to keep costs down since they are way cheaper then srt-4's, no. this is rediculous, this is the 10th thread this week talking s*** about srt-4's. get over it.

hell yeah i think that the MP5 is made cheaply...my exaust manifold cracked and its not covered under waranty, how do you think it makes me feel...im never buying another mazda again.

but why the SRT is the best thing EVER

The SRT takes the heritage that Chrysler had with turbo 4 cylinders, and came back with a vengence. Yes there are cars that are faster, nicer interiors (all subject to OPINION) but the fact remains. The SRT-4 is the best car for the money. The SRT-4 responds to mods VERY WELL. Beating cars that are 8-12k more in MSRP. If you look back at Dodge, they have always been on the forefront of offering more power. Even to the point of putting themselves almost out of business. Dodge has always been a best bang for the buck company. Since the hostile takeover from Daimler, Chryslers quality has been on a HUGE upswing. Yes there is a reputation that is hindering the name but it's time to let the negatives of the past to rest.

maybe your thread should be about your car and not a srt-4 then...

I dont think it cheaply made. The interior may not be as nice. But dodge just invested the money on other parts...like engine and tranny. You got to remember we got fake suede, carbon fiber and aluminum in our interior too. what with the massive amount of SRT-4 threads?

yeah you do have a good point, but i personaly dont belive that the SRT will hold up that long due to it having so mutch power, and costing so little. i mean dodge whould of had to loose allot of $$ in order to keep the quality up and costs down

what part of the car won't hold up? some people have like 50k miles on it and drive it hard every day with no problems. maybe the stock clutch won't hold up.

i just think that the tranny might have problems w/ breaking gears and forks.
and the engine being able to hold alot of power. i think that the rods migh give if the car is running more boost then stock(MBC) and the rods might just colapse...but that is what i think the week points of the engine might be.
