OK here is my lil review of the car My 2004 Silver Srt-4 stock 230/HP 250/TQ
.. i've only had it since monday so its barley broken in.
Pros:
Obviously the power over the Mazda, but in all reality it doesnt matter to me. I plan on just doing BPU. I just wanted something different it was either the SRT-4 or that Scion TC that i liked & were in my price range.
The sunroof! lol yeah i know big friggin deal, but this is the 1st car i've ever had WITH one so yeah another thing for me to play with
The color Sunlight Silver Metallic looks really nice in teh sun.
Stock BIG front mount intercooler.
Stock boost gauge in a nice location.
The functional hood scoop or w.e its called.
Taller gearing on the tranny.
Better gas mileage overall -cost me only 18 bucks to fill it w/super @ 2.10/gal
In general clutch/shifting are easier to drive.
Cheaper to mod.
Mopar uprades
Alot of them have been sold but u dont see them that much.. well at least in my area.
My optional side airbags.
3 Front cupholders lol & one for the rear
Trunk space.
Stock decent sounding dual exhaust.-less restrictive than any stock car( no muffflers)
Braking Power & of course the red f&r calipers
3/yr 36k bumper to bumper 7/yr 70k powertrain with/ deductable
Dealership honoring warrantys with a (slighty)modded car.
Being able to beat ricers both modded & non without a problem. (i dont have 1st hand experience yet.)
Interior overall is comfy for long rides.
Stock u can hear the stock BOV & turbo very well.
Neutral:
The optional Kicker sound system is nice.
The "Viper" styled seats, good for a TALL person but create a bad blind spot for shorter ppl but they def hug you on the corners.
The suspension is TOTALLY diff from the Mazdaspeed (not bad, but not better than the Mazda)
Interior def not as good as the MSP, but def has its own characteristics to make up for it(boost gauge...ect)
Has Tweeters on top of the dash as opposed to the
Sound system is decent for stock not a name brand but still decent for stock. (but the Kicker system is also an option)
Stock Brushed aluminum pedal set.
04's come stock with a LSD.
Stock Spoiler some like it some dont -i personally like it.
Both cars came from a base model car. MSP=protege(confused) SRT-4=Neon
For 20k car stock to be able to keep up with WRX & Evo, its a great thing
Stock rims size is 17X6 but for winter driving is a plus.
Cons:
RIMS!(notcool) -is my one of the top 3 things im going to change on the car.
Wheel Gap: will be taken care of also.
The steering wheel seems a lil big (mabye its just me)
Brake dust buildup ugh whatta pain in the ass. (another set of pads will fix that easliy)
No rear power windows (no big deal to me i rarely have backseat passengers)
Bottom Line:
I think i made a good purchase overall. I do miss my MSP, but i think i will have more fun with this car in general. Def worth the 20k i paid OTD .. Anyone thinking of getting one its well worth it IMO.
If you think about it what is the main feature that ppl dont like about the srt-4 ? its looks. so other than that for the price u cant beat it. plain & simple.
