heat transfer with that would be close to nothing when your regarding air temp (power)..if you want to get crazy, get a cheap indoor/outdoor thermometer use the out door part to read temps, i did this all over my cai from outside the filter, in the pipes and even in the intake mani, which is where the air temp really changes.. only 2-3 deg avg in the pipes, but 10-20 deg where i had it in the mani, thus i went out and bought a thermo spacer.. i havent tested the thermo spacer yet with the thermometer but ass dyno says more spunk....OH and leave it CAI- dont do short ram, there was a major air temp differance between the two, 20 deg avg while driving, but at a lights it went of the chart on the digi thermometer of over 120 deg... i has been said that on AVG, evey 10 deg of air temp is = to 1.7% hp gain, and like 2.1% turbo, etc...
