Squeeky Brake Pedal - Repair or Replace Suggestions

I have a creeking like sound when putting pressure on the brake pedal that is annoying. I can make this sound continuously by pressing down for more pedal travel. I've read it may be the booster, and tried lubing the top pedal pivot bearing to no avail. So, are there any simple options to repair this, or has anyone been able to figure exactly where this noise is being generated?

What's required to fix this, assuming it is common to the M6?
I haven't found many relevant threads and am new to this forum.

I'd like to know a solution too. I just bought a 05 Mazda6 s wagon last night with the same noise. My brakes don't seem to be affected but the initial creaking is annoying.
