squeaky belts? problem?

I had a squeaky belt and went to check it; turns out I had to change the alternator, fan, Power Steering belt. The Squeaky stopped for a month, now every time I turn my car on the squeaky comes back, only when Im around 1000rpm 1500rpm. When I turn on the A.C. gets even worse. Is there any chance that the squeaking is coming from the Power Steering pump?

Any suggestion what the problem might be?

Another quick question, when i have to change my Timing Belt?

100K for the timing belt. the squeeking maybe bacause the belts are too loose?

Its not too loose because I already tight it more and I think if I did more it would be worse. It was very tight

i think you are supposed to be able to push the belt in inch or so when installed??????

I had the same problem tighten it more...at least until the squeak stops. Cuz if you don't the belt will wear faster from slipping and you'll end up getting another one to replace it and the process will start over again.

Well i can check, i really didnt know that. And if i might need more and do too much what happend if the beld bakes in half, can i have more trouble?

^^^^

are you talking about the aux belts or the Timing belt. You will know if any belt brakes becasue you will loose power steering or your car will stop running if the Timing belt breakes......i know there are 2 aux belts and i am not sure what each one powers......if you break the one the works the water pump, the engine will warm up fast and overheat!!!!!! you don't want that!

the belts are built to stretch and there is no specification for pushing the belt in...but that is generally accepted for most cars. I would suggest tightening it a little and starting the car with the a/c on, if it squeaks go a little farther until it goes away

I went to my car and I only can push half an inch so its pretty tight. And Im not very good with this things but isnt suppose to the belt dont more without the rest? I pulled it and it moved over the engine parts.

Sorry the errors but English is not my first language

The belt that goes around alternator doesn't do the power steering. There are 2 aux. belts. One goes around the alternator, water pump, and main pulley. The second goes around the power steering, AC, and main pulley.

Right now, i'm having a similar issue with a squeeking belt, but mine is the PS/AC belt. It just needs to be tightened. You say that it squeels more when you turn the AC on? It's probably your PS/AC belt.

Yeah its the ac, ps belt that is doing noise.
