springs

go with tein's, there great, unless u have the money for the full JIC coilovers ( there the best):D

I understand that the Tein S-tech springs are a tad too soft. I currently am debating the same thing. So far I am tossing between H & R and Eibach prokit. I have the prokit before with the tokico HP struts in my acura and it was a nice combo. I really want H & R's this time but the prokit seems more readily available.

I'm going strictly for appearance so the softness of the Tein springs is definitely a selling point for me.

of everything i have heard and all the ebay brands and all that crap, eibach and H&R seem to be the ones to go with for ours cars. Tein can be softer and also drop a little more than eibach or H&R. Eibach does 1.4" in the front and 1.2" in the back with the prokit. H&R does either 1.4 or 1.5 all the way around. i forget.

Those HKS springs in that ebay link above look damn sexy but I havent heard of anyone around here using HKS on our cars? anyone?

2 front 1.5 drop back, looks badass with the tein's. thats what im getting when i get the money.

blue, thanks man! the wheels are 18" konig verdicts in opal. the tires are falken low profile, don't have the numbers with me. not a bad tire for summer driving. i'm gonna get the falken azenis next year when they come out with an 18" version. i saw them at mazda rev it up day and fell in love with them.:)

Azenis 18's!!!!! That would be killer keep up posted on that. They have to be cheaper than the Advans 18's they come over with this year.

I have had my eibachs for a few weeks now. They're nice. Here's a photo:

Your ride looks tight, my friend! Any rubbing issues?

Those look like ADR rims? Can you give us the tire/wheel setup specs?

Thanks

No rubbing issues at all even with me and 3 people in it. They are hyperblack ADR rims (M Sport or something)... 17" with a +48 offset... 7" wide. The tires are 205/40's. I need to fix my camera resolution or something because it always makes the spokes squiggley. Looks much better in person.

I bought from whalentire.com

That's about all the info.

so do eibach prokits have a set height so all drops on the p5 are the same? i've never gotten springs before, so do we get to choose the drop and buy in sizes or...

TEINs will make your car teh hotttttness

blue, there is no height adjustment with the springs. i'm getting the illumina struts to go with the eibachs, those are 5 way adjustable for ride and handling quality

i got the eibach pro-kits back in april 2001 and have been riding on them ever since. from the day i got them, they felt good and they they feel the same today. good quality springs IMO. i wish the rear was just a little bit lower though. a few of my friends also have the H&R springs. these seem to give the protege5 an all around even lowering.

i suggest the first thing you do after you get your springs installed is to get an alignment check. this will cure any alignment problems that may have been created while installing your springs. check for excessive camber (+/-), toe in/out ... etc
