I think I'm getting my engine motor mounts and rear diff on Fri (scheduled to arrive Fri). I know the rear diff takes a lot of effort so I don't want to ruin everyone's day with the install (probably bring it to a shop).

But I was wondering if I could ask for some help me install my engine motor mount?
It's the CP-E wishbone engine mount.
If not this sat, it can wait for another meet. I know this is last minute, and I don't wanna be "that guy" in my first meet with everyone. :P

I can head there early on Sat since I have some change in plans :D

I don't know what's involved so I'll let someone else chime in. Otherwise I'd say it's no problem at all.

that rear diff mount is alone a 4 hour install..could possibly take longer.. its not easy. a lift and a impact gun isnt needed but makes it easier.

Sounds like a pass to me for now.

yeah its definetly a part that youd want to hope for 4 hours to put in but plan on possible 6-8 hours if you run into snags.. Kalte, if the shop was opening up on time id say we could do it for ya in 4 weeks or so but were behind.. but if ya dont mind waiting till we open it can definetly be done in the new shop..

Yeah from what I was reading, it's a very elaborate job...and not to mention last minute as well since I didn't expect to get any of the mounts this month. lol.
That can wait for sure, I'm getting it as preventive maintenance and I don't track/launch the car. It's fine so far *touchwood*.

BoostedSpd6, yeah I can wait. I'm getting quotes here and there, but to be honest I'd rather go somewhere nearer if possible and RI is much nearer for me. I'll msg you offline later about this. Thanks man!

I'll bring the engine mount then. Thanks all!

What else can I bring? Microfiber towels?

That's no problem. I'm bringing down a catted DP, exhaust manifold, and the TT rear diff front mount. I plan on you guys installing all that s*** while I drive to the nearest pub to tie one on. I expect it installed by the time I get loaded, LOL.

ohh yeah all that stuff.. should take about an hour.. hahaha.. (beer)(spin)

Bring all the cleaning supplies you have, and if you have never clay bared before I recommend picking up a kit from Mothers or Meguiar's.

+1 on that. You'll be surprised how much tree sap and other s*** is on your car that normal wash/wax doesn't get off.

I think I might just leave the 8 in its current condition and not wash it before Saturday... it's a disaster right now. Or I could be nice and give it a quick wash tomorrow. ;)

I would say quick wash, even clay bar it before hand too. So that way you can spend more time doing the other steps with Josh's advice/help like using a buffer to take out fine scratches, maybe a sealer, and those oh so important coat(s) of wax.

Edit: Take a look at this post of Josh's with Mary's car (Post #6). If you can do some of the steps before hand, it will allow for more time with the others and a nice learning experience so you can do it at your condo.

Well, we won't exactly have time to do everyone's car full up like those. Even with 2 people on one car it's a full days work. However I will be able to give many pointers and I do have some stuff for people to use.

What do you guys use to clean the windows/windshield ?

I usually use newspapers to clean the windows and a towel.

I probably won't wash/clay mine but would love to help out and learn from the pros.
