Hey guys, spotted this in the movie theater parking lot last night and had to snap a picture with my phone. The image quality is not top notch, but it definately comes in handy in a pinch. It was soooo beautiful! Enjoy!

Wow, in Fredneck! Amazing. Which theater? The 1.99 one (dunno if it still is) where all the street racers used to hang out??

Wow, calling a Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R "Rice"...

First of all, note the top of the steering wheel mounted on the right side of the car (left of picture). I'll post a rear 3/4 pic and we'll see if you change your opinion.

yes...sarcasm, i apologize as my tone is often misinterpreted on the internet. And its an R33 (not only are there many body style diferences, but that blue color was only offered on R33 models). I have the same car just in maroon color and slightly modified... Check back with me in about 4 months and you can see it in person in the States if all goes well... did you happen to notice if it had a VIN plate? If so, hunt him down and get his phone # for me... i need to ask him a few questions.

btw, i still think its rice, heh heh heh

Yeah... I figured it was sarcasm, but it was a long day of inhaling jet fuel fumes (I refuel airliners at BWI here) and I didn't want to interpret it. I'll have to let my friend know that it was an R33, we thought R32, and I'll see what I can do about tracking they guy down. We think he's the owner of a big Nissan dealership here in Frederick (who we know to own a silver R33 with an insanely loud BOV). The car had a dealer tag on it, which helped us come to that conclusion. Its kind of a shock when you see one live, sort of like catching a glimpse of a supermodel or whatnot: You want to get inside so badly, but all you can actually get is a picture on your camera phone and maybe an accidental brush against it.

Hey man, no harm, no foul... i figured dealer because there are only 3 skylines in the USA actually registered with passenger plates legitimately. W lot of car dealers own one cuz they can get around registering it/inspecting/etc., but if they get caught out of emissions spec the cops can report it to the courts and have it deported" to its home country. I am going another route that was suggested on this board...

-import to US as parts- the car is broken down into frame/body, engine, and other parts. I will do 3 different staged importations into 3 different ports in the US (coming in from Canada) and shouldnt have to pay vehicle duties.

-Go to the junkyard and find a maroon Maxima (early-mid 90's) and rip the vin off. I will just put it on the skyline and noone in the DMV would nothice the difference cuz my car will be debadged. It'll even be insured at maxima rates and everything!

If you pull that off... man my hat's off to you (bowdown) and depending on how much it costs you (which is?), I might be right behind you. If it doesn't work and you get caught with it all... I've never talked to you in my life... (outie)

Just wondering... do you think that no one at the DMV knows what a Skyline looks like?

It's worked once in Florida, so thats where its gettin registered. The motor vehicle laws there are pretty lax in some areas, so there are ways around it. honestly though, how many times does the registering party go out to actually view the car? They only need title (can be fabricated from previous owner of the VIN donor car), VIN(you can use a salvage and still put it on roadworthy), inspection notice, and sometimes proof of insurance. Once everything is imported, I foresee none of those that will be a huge problem for me. And if so, then go with the american way: Bribery.

EDIT: Cost. well, i broke everything down myself and am working with a friend that owns a logistics company. I am hiring a personal friend's shop to assemble in America, so all i need to pay is duties on parts and track car importation fees. I am expecting the need to line 2-3 peoples pockets in DMV/state gov't, etc.. so all in all will be about 12 grand.

I was just about to say that it also i think runs like low 10s

Yeah... I didn't know he repainted it. His car collection is quite awesome. I've never seen him run it... does he run at 75-80?

i don't think he runs it at all (i've never seen him at 75/80 or Mason Dixon)
