Hey guys, I got a 2003 Mazda Protege ES, silver, 4 door, 17' rims, and I want to make it look nicer. I was wondering what I should do first to it. It is completely stock. I am already planning out 20% tints all around so that is taken care of. So if you have any suggestions please post em. Just for knowledge I want it to be clean and crisp but I still wanna turn some heads.

Thanks in advance!

tints will set off the colour, get the MSP/P5/MP3 kit, (front bumper, skirts and rear lip.

wax it all up and turn som heads

Switching to the MSP/P5/MP3 front bumper takes alot of work and is fairly expensive. There are a couple members on here selling the sedan front bumper lip kit. The MSP/P5/MP3 side skirts will work good and look great. Then get a rear bumper skirt to help fill it all out.

Here's my car with tinted windows, 17" wheels, sedan front lip kit and P5/MSP/Mp3 side skirts, removed side moldings:

Hey, welcome to the forum! ^^These are all great suggestions. You may also consider lowering your car. It'll complete the package with those 17" rims you have.

How much do these kits cost (for the whole thing, front, side, and rear.?) I live in Canada so what would be the approximate price would be great, and where could I get them, would i have to order them from Mazda or another shop?

Tom03es what percent tint do you have on yours? 20%?

Josh did you use coil overs or lowering springs? And thanks for the welcome.

I actually don't know. It's dark, that's all I know. It was tinted before I bought it.

Check out THIS THREAD for a great member selling those front lip kits (I bought mine from him).

I also bought my side skirts in the FOR SALE section on this forum. They originally came from a red P5. If you are patient and on a budget, watch the FOR SALE section and you'll find something.

Thanks a bunch...I posted to him on the forum asking him for a price and payment option.

Tom03es where did you get your side skirt, cause Nik said hes supplier dosen't have that, but he does have the front?

Hey guys, more questions. Well yesterday my bro bought me some Sparco pedals for my car and I was wondering if all after-market pedals will fit the Protege's pedal size. If they all fit any car, how would I install them? is it just a simple drill in? I'm new at all this so bare with me here :P.

Thanks

Yeah. I had a set of MOMO pedal covers in my old car. This is what I did on that car- remove the rubber pedal cover, align Sparco pedal covers on pedals, mark, drill, install screw through pedal cover and pedal, tighten nut on back side. Just depending on where you align them, make sure you're clear to drill all the way through on the back side.

hi, I own a 02 protege dx emerald mica with american racing 15's. Even at night it looks hot with the tinted windows. go as dark as you can legally. I only wish I had a spoiler. Anyway the night I was out looking to buy a car, this was the most gorgeous looking car on the lot, and I thought "I must have It!!"

Hey guys, I got some interior changes done to the car right now, just because winter is coming up and I think that it is too late to start making boy mods, soo im taking all ideas in to consideration until spring/summer comes around. I was just wondering about speakers systems. I purchased a Pioneer head unit, with a mosfet circuitry, and I have my eye on 2 12" JBL's in a custom box. The amp I am thinking to use is a Rockford Fosgate 2 channel 300W amp. I was just wondering if anyone else has put a system similar in size in the protege and if I should change anything about my purchases (I was also wondering about the rattling in the trunk with the 2 12" JBL's). Thanks alot, all opinions are good opinions.

drop the car with springs, r get coilovers , work on the suspension, and get some power adders! too much bling bling way too 90s....

Good choice on the pioneer setup(drinks). I had a single 12 in mine and i fixed the rattle (for the most part) by taking some clear silicone caulking to the gaps in the trunk supports (yanow, the criss-cross thingys) Reduced it down to next to nothing. If you want to spend some money on it dynamat or the like is good as well(jerkit)

good choice?

good choice? honestly pioneer subs are probly one of the worst choices you could have made on subs. Instead of them getting better after you break them in a bit, they blow, I have had speakers and subs and work at best buy, and we dont even have a working pioneer sub because they always blow. Try something like MTX, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, Kicker, JL, basically anything but pioneers, I mean why do u think a 12" is only 80 bucks??

If you read it closely enough i was talking about his head unit. He didn't even mention pioneer speakers.

Sweet, I really appreciate your knowledge. I changed the 2 12" pioneer's to 1 15" T1 Fosgate for that information. But know i have another dilemma....I'm looking into buying a cold air intake for the car, and I was wondering if anyone had and knowledge with a good brand. I'm looking to bump up the horse in the car without turbo charging it. I'm also thinking to change the air filter to a high performance one. My ultimate goal right now is too acquire as much horse power as possible, any helpful hints and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Remember I'm only a student on a budget so nothing too extravagant like headers and stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Well injen is always a good brand, as well as AEM. Injen will run you a little bit more (for some unforseen reason) but I've never had s problem with the AEM systems. The DryFlow filters they come with don't require oiling and they simply need a rinse every so often. Jurys still out as to the actual power difference betwoon the dryflow filters and a regular power stack oiled filter.
