sport vs GT

Speaking of sunroof.... why the deuce can't you get one on a speed3? They afraid it's so fast the roof will rip off? :P

i'm pretty sure theres a roll bar. plus putting a giant hole in the roof drastically reduces the stiffness of the body

as if I don't already seem crazy enough to you luxury mongers the speed not having a sunroof was one of the major reasons I liked it beyond being decently quick, quiet, and cheap.

Moonroof is optional on the MS3 in Australia. Plus they get a flip key and Aurora Blue paint.

^^^^^^

That's why I was wondering, mostly. Guess Australia is just better than everyone else. Damn kangaroos.

I don't know why everyone is saying it reduces the rigidity by adding a sunroof. That has nothing to do with it unless there's a rollcage underneath the sheetmetal in that location, which I doubt because sunroof is optional in Australia. I have no proof at the moment whether there's any type of reinforcement there or not, but I'm sure I can find it.

So what I say isn't fact until I prove it, right? But to me, it's common sense. Now when you're comparing rigidity to the sedan and hatch, that's a different story. Which is why they probably chose the hatch platform for the MS3.

You're right actually. Someone did have a sunroof installed on their MS3. There were bars gong across the roof when they took off the ceiling to do the install. It didn't look like those bars, which looked like flimsy sheet metal did much to stabilize the roof. I think I saw the whole install on the other forums though... pictures and all... it came out looking pretty good, as if it were stock. Motorized and everything. top notch.

Can you find it and post a link? I'd love to see the install. I'm not going to install one, but it would be nice to see.

if you are spending that much money, its really not alot more for a much nicer package. the seats alone make it worth it. the sport seats cheap imho. plus, you are gonna want to switch the headlights and tails everntually. go GT, you wont regret it

switch the headlights, and tails WTF why would I want to do that? I didn't buy the car for the ******* lights I bought it for the motor the last time I checked the sport, and the GT have the same drivetrain. BTW I love my sport seats to me cracked wrinkled leather, and worn out alcantara seem cheap

not even a bit the GT wasn't even on my radar I insisted on getting a sport. I can't even tell the difference unless I look inside at the seats, and I think mine are better. caring about the lights is a little too ricey for me.

Ricey ? FYI, Mazda is a Japanese company! If you did not want a rice-mobile, you should have got an American or European car. The leather and Alcantara seats and door panels of the GT make the sport interior look like a Kia. Plus, better headlights and taillights make for a safer vehicle which we should all care about...

LOL jealousy? for a $1800 upgrade. I could have afforded the GT model if i wanted it, as Im sure most sport owners as well It was just our preference. I had a choice of a CWP GT or a SSM Sport. I chose my sport not because I couldnt afford the GT, but because I didnt want it. The lighting on the GT are awesome but IMO I dont like cheap leather (cracked seats FTL) I went through that s*** with my RSX Type S.

Are you guys seriously having a pissing contest over what trim level you got?

changing out the lights is super rice its something I expect from some kid with a regular 3 covered in graphics spraying naaws
the lights aren't a bad thing, but the normal ones are perfectly fine. there is no way I wouldn't pay more, and live with those seats to get them.

I thought the interior looked a little cheap in 07, but when it all went all black I thought its bad ass. the looks are a matter of opinion, and when I'm sitting in the seat I don't see it. the fact remains that the sport seats are a lot more durable, and thats the main reason I chose the sport

Thats why I opted for my Sport... I few miles down the road, your so called leather seats will look like crap. All cracked, wrinkled, and faded...

Our Sports seats, will still look like new...

Take a look at a 2007 MS3 GT thats DD and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm not trashing the GT, because I wanted one, but without the leather.
