Sport Exhaust

Hi, for those of you who have the "Sport" exhaust (the mazdaspeed exhaust for P5). I am wondering if any of you have a gap between the muffler and the catback pipe due to the gasket that came with the Sport exhaust. the gap is about as thick as the new gasket. Is this normal? and is it ok as long as theres no exhaust leak if its normal? Thanks.

I just put mine on (2 weeks ago) that I picked up from Matt V. I just picked up a new gasket at AutoZone... but I did notice a little gap. I tightened the crap outta the nuts to hopefully push the gasket down but it didn't really help.

As far as an exhaust leak, I'm not really sure. Haven't had time to have someone help check. I know I have a leak somewhere, but I think thats further up that was there before.

I see. I just received mine today and installed it. I do have a little gap too after I tighten it down til I can't anymore but its much smaller compared to when I first post this thread. I did check for exhaust leak right after I installed it and I didn't find any, so I drove about 50 miles today and didn't realize any problems, so I guess its normal and its ok.
