Sport edition rear speakers

I remember reading awhile back that the sport doesn't have speakers back there. I was wondering if anyone who owns a sport has installed speakers and what they would suggest? I'm buying an infinity bass link set up and would like to have speakers back there too, to improve quality.

Is the wiring for the speakers still in the car?

Links provided for everything that I need to buy (me being a noob) would be appreciated.

This is the first car I've really added stuff too (I'm 21) and I'm trying to learn.

Are you sure? Im pretty sure the sport comes stock with 4 speakers: 2 front and 2 back.

Yes the US sport model comes stock with front and back speakers. The touring upgrade gives u the extra two tweeters in the door pillar.

I am also interested in upgrading the speakers at some point. I remember searching for the size but can't remember what the heck it was lol.

Josh I am in the exact same boat as you.. Same age and trying things on my own, just remember google is ur friend you can find almost anything on there the forums won't provide haha good luck man!

There are speakers in the rear on the Sport. You could always fade to the back and see what you hear

I settled on <a href="http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB651S/Polk-Audio-db651s.html?tp=105&nvpair=FFBrand%7cInfinity&nvpair=FFBrand%7cPolk+Audio"> these </a> simply because it was a good combo of materials (Def don't get any speakers with a cloth surrond), tweeter size, and highest RMS considering price. I didn't feel like going for component (seperate tweeter) simply because I feel lazy about the whole thing (2 kids will do that to ya)

Oh I also chose those because they fit front and rear doors and I don't feel like getting two brands of speakers.

Eventually in the near future I'll report with how the fit really goes...

Thanks for the information, I probably should have checked before asking. Can you install tweeters and what do they do? Additionally, what does everyone here think of the infinity bass link 2 in 1 amp and sub combo. I was thinking of buying that for my car. Someone else on the boards suggested it.

Tweeters are for your hi-range.

From my understanding, you can fit the door tweeters near the A-pillar simply by ordering them from Mazda and installing them. The wiring is there, it just may require the door panel being removed to get to it.

But you have to figure it's going to be better. It's like comparing Levi's to Lee's. Both will cover your legs, but one's better than the other
