Spoolin MP3's Turbo, Stage 4 w/ PICS

Yeah, I would be very interested in the manifold and maybe a turbo and then piece together the system myself. The main thing I am looking for is a huge intercooler. I want to get one that fills up the whole front. I will probably end up cutting on the front and all cause I want it to fit right in there.

You know just hearing you throw out numbers like 190 WHP makes me drool with anticipation. Can't wait to hear more about this...I'll start saving my pennies. :)

I think I am going to provide a start up turbo kit that will include tubular manifold, garrett t3 ballistic turbo and stainless steel oil feed and return lines with earl fittings. Intercooler optional

And basically all that would be needed is the intercooler plumbing, intercooler and down pipe and ofcourse an FMU and regulator of sorts.

Here is an approximate price list of what will be needed that you guys could go out on your own and get made or buy.

Intercooler pipes 400-500$
(most muffler shops can make this)
Down Pipe with flex 150-200$
Blow off valve 50-220$
FMU and regulator 300$
Clamps and silicone connectors$ 30

Approx total 930$ + cost of my setup
If you guys are intersted email me privatley (cant post on the forum its against the rules)!!

Damn, I must be looking for love in all the wrong places :D, where can you get a T3 for that cheap and would that be for a new one or used. If spoolin decides to sell the exhaust mani's, I'd be interested. Luckly I can buy Subywan's stock WRX turbo off of him once he puts the PE1820 on.

I meant to say T3 turbo. You can get a used one or remanufactured one from a junk yard. All you have to do is look around on the net. If you go to a junk yard, look for a Ford Thunderbird SC(super coupe). It has a T3 turbo in it. Also the old Grand nationals have a T3 in them. There are several others. My suggestion would be a Thunderbird one. Moer than likley it would still be in good condition. But you should always inspent it before you buy it. But a used one is fine. If you look long enough I'm sure you can find one for as low as $125. I've bought turbos in the past from junkyards, then went to a speed shop where a friend worked, and just posted a note to sell it. I would easily make $150 of of it. I'd buy it for about $125 then resale it for $200+. Just a suggestion though.

you definitly got my attenion, who much do u think ur kit would cost us??

spoolin, i def say go with a stage 1/2, and upgradable choices later, because most of us on budget and can always upgrade later. great pics

I thought onw of the thunderbirds had a turbo in it. I'm not sure, I could very well be wrong. If so my bad.

Looks nice but I'm wondering about how you have the BOV setup? Are you going to run the exhaust from the BOV back to the inlet tube between the turbo and the MAF sensor? The way it sets now, you will be venting metered air during decel and possible light cruising. The ECU will 'see' more airflow than what is actually going into the engine during those conditions and possibly force an overly rich condition. Or if you want to leave the BOV there beacuse of it's acoustic properties, put the MAF just before the trottle body and tune for a 'blow through' setup.

There was a Thunderbird with a turbo in it.... the Thunderbird TurboCoupe! I love it when the world makes a little sense :)

Hey rodslinger,
I dont exactly understand your question? The BOV will vent into the atmosphere. Its placed closest to the throttle body because when it closes up the backtracking of the pressurizing I/C pipes will released that air via the BOV. I am not using a recirculating fitment to dump the air back into the turbo....as for the MAF I will no longer need it because of the engine managment.

He is saying that if you were still using the MAF, all the air would go past the MAF, but then you would lose some at the BOV under deceleration. So the engine would see more air than what there really is cause you lose it through the BOV and it may run rich there.

congrats brah, count me in. i like the look of the i/c, very intimidating!!

Hey spoolinMP3,

How goes it...how ya been? I can't believe these pics man...that manifold is a work of art. I had several e-mails from members requesting more info about your turbo setup...so I referred them over to you (hope you didn't mind) for more info.

So what is the current status on the project? Alright, talk to you later, drop me an e-mail, good luck :D

Get that badboy dyno'd ASAP. And then go run the quarter. You'll probably run 14's and have around 180whp...so go see what you can get!!!! CONGRATS, MAN!

Will someone PLEASE edit wildman's post and take the pics out. No reason to have the exact same ones, just eating up bandwith on my server :(
