Guys, need some help....this may be lame-but I need to ask....
Has anyone ever heard of "Sport Compact Pro"??? I got a spnsorship offer from them and it sounds too good to be true.....
They are offering me 12k, + 50% off on any products I order with them, and in return I need to put their decals on my car(small ones), and attend 4 national or local events in a 12month period....

Can someone shed some light on whether or not this may be BS, or if this is really how it works??? Or maybe even hear from some people who have some experience w/ sponsors to see if they more or less work the same way...or see if there's some catches....it just sounds too easy...Thank In Advance!!!!!

for 12 grand, i would give it a try

it's not like the decals won't come off, and u still get 50% off

i am a sponsered car through them, it isn't all that it is cracked up to be, but it still isn't bad, $600 of free stuff, take in mind, to get the bigger sponserships, you have to have a trully bad ass car, i have a few mods, and they gave me 600 bucks plus a house of boom "at cost" deal

Well its not as great as I thought--but I'm gonna move forward anyway...its still better than nothing...here's the deal

They sponsor basically pays anywhere from 20-55% of the price on parts you want from manufacturer's that they have agreements with....and you are allowed to use this discount as much as you want up to 12k from now until 3/06....in Return you have to where 2 decals that are 7" x 2" (color of your choice), and attend 4 events of your choosing....(can be local, national, track, car clubs, etc...as long as there are 25+cars its an "event"), and also take about 8-10 pics of your car at the event w/ the decals on the car(proof I guess).....If you dont fulfill your committment, they wont sponsor you again...no penalities, no reutrning parts, etc...just a burnt bridge....

I will be receiving my contract in 2-3weeks along w/ the list of manuf's they pay for....they charged me $80bucks to draw up the contract(which is total BS--they prob. have millions of copies laying around, but hey...its tax deductable)...so when I get the list & contract if I dont agree they will refund me the $80, otherwise I'm in......

If the list is good, I'll share the info and everything...and if its crap I'll do the same to avoid problems for others...keep your fingers crossed!

it sounds to me like you just paid $80 to join a club to buy discounted parts from their network of partners..

kind of like an amway for car parts..??

sounds about right....but depending on their manuf's it might be worth the investment....

What a sales pitch though...they called me telling me I was getting 12k to hook up my car if I where their decals at 4events in 12months...But like I said..might still be worth the $80bucks...if not then its a lesson learned...and hopefully one that others wont follow

Not a bad deal. At least you can brag to people that those stickers are on there cuz your sponsered, they wont ask questions, they'll just feel lame cuz they bought their "Type-R" stickers at AutoZone.

where do i sign up?....

it is a scam , it is the same as racer X they take your $75 and mark up the prices

sportcompactpro.com

And if it is a scam then so be it...lesson learned at the price of $80...it is what it is....

essentially all they are doing is marking up jobber pricing or suggested retail and then giving you a discount that might be about a 5 to 10 percent savings from anywhere else. granted every little bit helps, but ill give you 15 off most stuff for wearing a sticker and wont charge you a "setup" fee or whatever it is.
The only decent sponsorship placve that ive searched out yet is carsponsorships.com, they seem to be legit and offer some geuine sponsorships.
ive been researching them for a while because we are about to start offering sponsorships and i was trying to find out what they do and how they do it.

no matter who you pick, read the fine print first

I just applyed to carsponsors.com, we'll see what happens.

they just gave a set of wheels/tires, lowering springs, and abunch of stereo equipment to a guy on my local forum at no charge. pretty sweet deal

its a scam
think about it
if it was a real SPONSORSHIP YOU DONT PAY A Fee!! (rofl)

and its NOT THAT EASY to get "real" sponsorships/

thats like sponsorship for ricers.

no, its more of a discount structure like i explained. CS however has given away free stuff worth much more than the setup fee. its a crap shoot and i agree. I am currently sponsored by 6 companies with the new car ,and 9 with the old, and none were easy to get and ill be the first to admit they were easier for me because of my connections.
Getting sponsored is learning to accept rejection, you may send out 100 sponsorship letters and 98 of them will say no. if you send the same letters to the 98 that said no a year later with a few more sponsors under your belt as well as some mods, some will say yes the 2nd time.
thats just been my experience though

ding ding ding! i just battled with these assholes. they take your $80 just for filling out an application. then you get anywhere from %5-55 off of the price from the manufacturer. there is no guarantee on anything. it is complete bulls***. don't buy in!!

~I just recently got into modifying my car and am new to the forum so saying hey to everybody on here, but just a reply to you, I got the same deal at carsponsorships.com. I did the whole package thing, and I got sponsored $625 by Decalkits.com and 50% off of House of Boom. I have no mods done to my car yet and was just looking around for some sponsors to get me started and this is what they gave me. I am hoping they find me some more sponsors, but I don't know. (shrug)
