splice into tach???

does any one know where to start on my dash ,so i could take it off and splice the wires from my tach, so i could wire up a "auto meter tach w/shiftlight"
or does anyone know any better idea to connect my "auto meter"

I have tech sheets

Acording to my tech sheets the tack line is the Purple/white wire located at your diagnostic connector. The DC is in driver side rear corner of engine compartment. Can also be found in pin 48 of the ECM, the ECM is behind the passenger side of dash.

The infromation given here is according to the tech sheets i have from DEI, I take no responsibility (spelling) for wrong info.

if its the little green/gray box where do i connect it to

You need to splice the tach signal wire from the tach into the purple with a white stripe wire coming off of that gray "diagnostic connector" box in the engine bay on the driver's side near the firewall. It's kind of tight in there so it's hard to access but pull up that bundle of wire and peel away some of the black electrical tape, you'll see the wire..T tap it and you're all set.
