Spin-on ready for the next oil change

The only place you can get the cartridge filter from is Mazda?

when i did my swap, (two years ago) mazda was the only place that had the internal filters. that was my actual only reason for doing the spin on conversion. i spent an entire weekend driving around looking for just a oil filter for the car, and still ended up having to wait till monday when mazda opened.

Any1 had a problem with the oil cooler leaking after this? Installed mine 2 weeks ago and there is a slow leak coming from the top :(

I used thread sealer on the sensor but thats not where its leaking from. Its from the very top. Its not a bad leak just more like a light coat comming down. Maybe the top bolt isnt tight enough since I didnt use a torque wrench. The first week there wasnt a drop of oil in sight but since its been sitting at the dealer for a week I just noticed it.

just fyi - the filters enganear recommended will be too big if you're going to use an oil sandwich plate. seemed like it would push on the skid plate even without any add-ons.

Damn!! (bang)
Are you sure? I got one of those bigger filters sitting on my work bench with the conversion kit...

It was a bit below the mid spot on the stick, but enough above the MIN, so I figured that it's enough. By the way that plastic stick bulls*** is a pain to read.

I don't think it's necessary, is it? As long as it's somewhere in between MIN and MAX it's fine, at least that's what the manual says.
