Just Got the bolts for the dpipe, the 170 degree thermostat BUT the new dpipe flange gasket is backordered till the 16th. What do people think about reuseing the old flange gasket so I don't have to wait another week to finish
I got mine from my local mazda dealer (if we are talking the turbo to dp gasket) it was like $27 but I got it that day.
Looks good man! keep us updated on the 170 thermostat... i have the 160 stant fail safe in my car ang right now it takes forever to warm up and causes a check engine light.
You may want to switch back to a stock thermostat.

These aren't mustangs thoughEverything I've read in the service manual says the PCM only will throw a code if the engine coolant temp never reaches 160 F. i have a 170 so i should be good. i run a 160F in the mustang and its fine. The reason for a cooler thermostat is to reduce detonation cause by a hotter combustion chamber, to make conditions safer for boost. At least thats my experience with mustang tuning.
DTC P0126
• If ECT signal never exceeds 71C {160F} after engine start for specified period, PCM determines that the
coolant thermostat is stuck open.
