speed3 block and standard 3 block

is there a difference between the 2 blocks? like pistons and rods? or are they built the same like the msp and the standard protege

MZR is the 2.3 made by mazda in the Mazda3, Mazda6i

The speed3 got forged rods, (i think pistons are the same) a oil cooler and just made a little different for the 6speed tranny and DISI technology
 
I know the 3's is not thesame engine as in my car. I wasnt very clear. when they made my car they put the same engine in as all the other proteges. which was stupid. I just want to know the diff between the speed3 block and the standard three. I am not sure what disi is either. I am thinking of buying a block and tranny for my msp. I have become bored with it and think this would be something totally different. not really sure if I want to destroy my car though maybe find a protege with a damaged front end. I keep looking at cars and none of them strick me as hard as my msp did. love at first sight

Yeah I had heard this from someone as well.. my only question is with the proper fuel mods and everything.. would you be able to turn the boost up from the stock boost and be alright? Ya know to say 15-17psi. Considering you already have a built bottom end. Isnt stock boost like @ 12psi or something like that? Not to thread jack but thought id ask.. debating if I wanna say with my current car or get a Speed3.
 
ha. that is what is getting me. I went and looked at the speed 3 and the speed 6 last night. I really didnt like either of them enough to buy. I have decided that I just want the engine and tranny.

Factory boost is like 16-17, somewhere in there in the higher gears. 1st and 2nd are like 10.
