2007 Mazdaspeed 6
Alright before you get mad at me for not searching, I just want to say that I have searched it multiple times but it seems like the threads are so old that I do not know if Mazda has fixed this problem yet. I was just wandering, of the many speed 6 owners on here, how many have had this problem and what is the mileage on them? Also I am looking at the 2007 models, so if possible, if you have a 2007 please respond so I will know how this issue is being solved. Thanks, any help would be great.

The 06's are the problem I believe but here is the rub. If you have on the stock exhaust you are not going to see that smoke until it get critical because of both cats. I only discovered a problem when I removed the secondary cat and installed a cat back exhaust and there it was...and bad, very bad. Oil consumption and smell are a dead give away. Another way is to let the car idle for 10 Min's and the rev the engine a few times. If exducer seal is bad it will show. If the inducer seal is also bad there will be oil residue in the intercooler piping. My .02

PS 17,000 miles smokes like hay on fire.

So is it more the downpipe rather than the actual exhaust that causes the problem?

Niz55, so you have a 2008 Speed 3 and you have the problem too.

Rolled over to 6000 tonight, No smoke, gutted second cat, mobile 1 only for my baby.

my 06 speed6 had the smoking issue around 24k miles..it's been replaced and i haven't seen the issue since.

I have an 06 MS6 and had the smoke issue after I put a downpipe. My dealer was awesome enough to do the warranty work to replace the turbo. In the manual it states that after long drives or using or the turbo you should wait 30 secs at idle before shuting off your car to let your turbo cool. I wondering if shutting down early causes some sort of heat stress on our turbo seals.....time will tell.

Thanks to Bova informing me about that, I think thats the least anyone can do. 30 seconds, jam out to the rest of the song thats on. I know on non-water cooled turbo vehicles they absolutely should have a turbo time to prevent sludge buildup and potential overheated bearings on next start up. 6k on mine, i guess better late than never, but iive been running synthetic since 2300 miles.

06 Speed6 10k miles - Bad seals (new turbo on order.)

I have a stock exhaust (no downpipe or testpipe) and the only way to reproduce it is to let the car idle for 15-20mins.

I never saw any signs of a bad turbo until I took off my ic and found oil all over the hot side tube. I could actually see swirl marks in the turbo caused by leaking oil.
