Hmmm (uhm)camrycev6 said:The last 4 numbers can't tell you too much...because the last 4 of my VIN is 8271. Maybe it includes all M3 models...
BTW...The US gets 5000 MS3 this year...not N. America as a whole.
Again....Hmmmmjhowey said:my last 4#'s are 7363 and the four before that are 7168 both do not make much sense given that only 5000 to the US, I guess if they counted all Speed3s that were produced maybe. Plus on the Speed Proteges I do not believe the vin identified teh production #

camrycev6 said:Don't know what to say. I got my MS3 less than a month after they came out. With 8271 at the end, I just don't see a connection to the production number. If they are connected, we clearly don't understand the system at this point. I do know this much -- my VIN came up as a regular Mazda 3s when I talked to the insurance company. They didn't even have any Speed 3s in their DB. This at least tells me that the there is something that all M3s share in common with their VINs.

Pfft said:Not to go too off topic, but I was at a Mazda dealer this weekend and the salesman told me two things:
1) While the US was supposed to get 5000 units, only 3500 are here.
2) There is no more MS3; 2007 is the last year you can get one new.
I'm all for chalking it up to a uninformed salesman, but are we absolutely sure a 2008 MS3 will appear? I am entering into the new car market and need to know if I need to be be acting fast if I want a MS3.
You personally drove them? As opposed to your chauffeur?Loose said:Again....Hmmmm
I personally test drove 0099 and 1445. I bought 1901.
