Installed speaker baffles on the Pioneer 6X8s in the front and 6 1/2" in the rear, mostly to protect against dirt and moisture...I noticed the rear 6 1/2" have absolutely NO low end bass...It seems to have killed all the bass??? Wondering if this is common, if they are underpowered and having the baffle just multiplies the effect???...Anyone else have this effect???? The 6X8's have a much better low bass response in the front and it killed the little rattle in the door...So...I'm happy up front and dissapointed in the rear....anyone have any experience with this????

Door speakers normally are designed to rely on the cavity in the door for proper bass response. Adding the baffles effectively puts the speaker in a much smaller enclosure than what they were designed for. If you want to keep the baffles, for weather proofness, I suggest cutting out a big chunk of the baffles' backsides at the bottom, to keep the seal around the front of the speaker, protect from moisture getting in the door, and you will probably get most, if not all, of your bass response back.

Thanks....I've got the door Dynamatted, so they it is like a large sealed box behind them already, so I guess I'll just give it a try...It seems like only the 6 1/2" speakers are having the problems, the front 6X8s are sound better and with more bass than before, but the backs are all tweeter now...
