Spark Plugs

Ok I did a search for which are the best spark plugs for the mazda speed. Did not find what I was looking for. Could someone please help me out?

NGK BKR7Es are good enough!

But iof you are an asshole like me that pushes the car to its limit, i must recomend 1 step colder, 8 grade plugs

I have heard nothing but bad things about the +4's, and overall their benefits are a gimmick...They claim bigger more powerful sparks, but that is created more by the ignitors and coils themselves...not the plugs...and 4 electrodes are just 3 more potential stress points to break off and ruin your cylinder walls...

yep totally right. electricity is lazy - goes to ground via the shortest possible distance. it's totally possible with spark plugs that have multiple prongs that only 1 will ever be used

Exactly...forgot to point that out as well...

Just to Generalize...If you need a more powerful efficient spark, you need to look at the ignition system itself (most cases the ignitors and coils, this does not mean you just need "better" plug wires)...Investing in "split fire" plugs or "+4" multiple electrode plugs is next to pointless...They do nothing to improve the overall ignition systems output, and usually compromise service life of the plugs themselves...Also as Andy pointed out, they rarely do what they claim to do (make a 4 point static arc or something...not likely in any conditions...) it is a bit of a shame, Bosch overall has made some of the greatest engine controllers and overall highest quality OE parts in the world (as well as washing machines...) But those plugs are a joke, and it is annoying to see such a well known brand use marketing gimmicks to prey on the ignorant...

That ends my rant...

 SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP! No thanks.. :( I noticed on my N/A Talon, the +4's made the car run smoother, idle smoother.. etc. But, no power increase over the accells i had installed before them.

what about for a PR5?

I just replaced my OEMs at 28000mi with regular Bosch Platinums and I love it. Smooth as silk baby

the smoothness you get with new plugs is probably just that - new plugs.

Yea I know, but a guy can dream can't he?

i guess so :p

but on a more topic note - there is very minimal difference between spark plugs. it pretty much comes down to personal preference.

That's what I figured, I always trust Bosch with electrical stuff. That's why I went with them.

theres a big difference when using nitrous and/or turbo.
Could be the end of your engine if using hotter plugs

I've been using the Bosch Platinum 4+ for over 10000 km, and they've been no different from the stock ones. Mileage improved (due to being new plugs), idle & acceleration remained just as smooth as before.

I highly doubt anything bad will happen from using them, they've been around for years.

Just don't expect anything great,...although true, for a turbo app. look for colder plugs. Otherwise, I don't see any huge differences between the plugs I've used on my car and others.

Do you know what the part number is for the 8 grade plugs?
