Spark Plugs

use that same search. Read through the many threads there. Everything related will be answered

You have to gap them yourself. I think Protege garage may even sell some properly gapped ones?

Changing these plugs would be a bit different than a lot of cars. The TMIC has to come off, but that isn't too bad, from what I've read. If you've not looked at the plugs, though, how do you know they're going bad?

If the plugs are bad you should see discolorations on the electrode end. Stockers should hold up well past 50K mark though. People swap them out because iridium is better and step colder plugs are better for modded vehicles. The plug swap is easy. Takes 5 minutes to take off the TMIC. Then the 4 of them are right there. Only issue is you need to have the proper socket extendors to reach down and grab those plugs. Took me 45 min all said and done.

where can i get NGK spark plug one step colder

If you are modded to the extent you need colder plugs, the NGK number is in my sig. I got mine at O'Reily's Auto Parts for $6.99 each. Also available same price at Advance Auto Parts. Both places can get them for you over night if not in stock.

They (NGK's) will need to be regapped. Use a wire gauge and take your time. Do not go step colder if you are not running higher than stock boost, or a downpipe or an aftermarket tune like AP. You'll just foul them out. You need to be up on boost or up on power by 40 whp over stock, or you're taking a step backward with colder plugs. You want to run as hot as possible with as large a gap as possible without encountering knock.

Well i been knocking a little bit and also i sent my data log to my tuner and he said that my spark plugs are not as effective as they should be so he highly recommend to get new one especially colder. Another reason it better to have a full iridium spark plugs is better then stock.

Before you put them in... check the gap for good measure. You may have to adjust them a little. And don't apply pressure to the electrode. Its very brittle

I would suggest looking into the prices on ebay, I bought my ITV22s for 35 shipped...
