77 in a 55. I've been driving sports cars since I got my lisence and I'm 28. Looks like I'm gonna have to go to court in upstate NY now to fight it. I haven't been pulled over since 2002 or so. Fun is I guess.

that sux bro. but def fight that, most of the time the cops are cool as long as you werent a dick to him/her when they pulled you over. good luck

In all honesty, I was just driving, lol. I wasn't paying attention to the speed as the turns were a lot of fun on the Taconic Parkway. The cop was honestly easy to deal with, and I always go to court. If dirtbags can get off of **** and murder charges, I should be able to get out of a ticket.

I read for hours on how to fight a ticket and I suggest you search "ticket assasin" on the net and do the same. There are several ways to fight it and there are free pages to copy with tons of leagal terms ect. I am not sure but I think most of it is for California but you will get some good ideas.

Statisticaly if everyone fought the tickets 33% would get off free and clear but nobody does and they make a fuckgin killing on the fees people pay. I think I read that based on those stats the Highway patrol would loose 1+ billion a year.

Here in Cali we have these damn robot cameras in the intersections and they are a b****. How many times have you got stuck in a intersection or got to the point where you realize to stop would create a skid out so you just make it through in the last second. Well now you get your picture taken and a bill in the mail for upwards of $300+.

Any other highway I would have been fine, just 12 over the limit, for what ever reason the fine state of NY felt 55 was good for a highway. I'm not worried about it. I'll get it reduced or tossed, or better yet, the cop won't show up (no prosecutors in traffic court in NY)

that isnt too bad..recently i got 78 in 45 and the ticket was originally 600 dollars but a lawyer and a few days later got it down to 250 and just some court fees which will proly be 100....sucks but i drive like grandma again

yeah go contest it. I got caught in Litchfield, CT going 48 in a 30 (honestly just wasn't watching the speed) and I went in to contest it. It wasn't a judge court thingy so the officer that gave me the ticket didn't have to show up, but I talked to a state prosecutor and he was able to just give me a fine (a "charitable contribution") so the state still gets their money but my record wasn't affected. yay.

your record and insurance!!(wink)

yeah...I guess insurance was kinda implied since they look at your record when calculating your premium. I had also JUST completed their safe driver program so I just recently started recieving safe driver discounts. That ticket would have f-ed me over.

Plus I turn 25 in August, so even more discounts! yay!

be glad you didn't get the ticket in VA...you'd probably be in jail!

had a ticket in NoVA for 71/50. got it knocked down to 69/50 by going to court. had to pay a fine and that was that. didn't see the judge, I jus took the alternative route. I prolly have points, but I don't know for sure
