Some Questions..

As you know I just recently purchased a 2002 Protege 5. I have some more questions I'd like to ask.

- Is it normal for the shifter to vibrate when it is in gear (manual transmission)?
- the car is at 77K mileage, would it be ok to switch to synthetic at this point? (granted there isn't synthetic in it already, haven't checked)
- Is it normal for shifting to be notchy when the weather is cold?

1. Yeah. Engine movements and vibrations / suspension jolts are all transmitted through the linkage.

3. It's a little notchy from the factory (it's never really bothered me), but ya, in the cold it's a little worse. It should clear up once the tranny heats up tho.
