250.00 seems way too cheap. If you can feel that with your fingernail, there really is no cheap fix. If I'm writing that estimate, I'd write for an hour repair on both the qtr and liftgate. Then with the refinish all the trim needs to be removed (mouldings, emblems, hardware etc.) for the refishing operation. It looks like it's close to the front of the qtr panel and may warrant blend to the door. Tough to see from the pics, but unfortunately, if you can feel it with your fingernail, it can't be buffed out.

Make an insurance claim, thats why you pay out the ass for it. It'll be comprehensive, therefore a nonchargeable loss, and your rates shouldn't go up. I just had mine keyed two weeks ago, so I feel for you, good luck!

it is definitely deliberate. i have no enemies tho. ive been here for 6 months after a 5 year college stint (woo hoo van wilder plan!) in texas...
