so you think you got some bass?

Looks like you should sign yourself up at the local Trades Night School to learn how to weld? And use approx. 6 full rolls of dynamat in your trunk when you are done welding!?! :)

damn all that damage from that? i was hitting 150 with the jugg and i haven't found any problems, although i rarely ever listened to it that loud(only at competitions really), not sure if you drive around with the radio all the way up all the time.

with my old 15 i was doing a 151.2 at 40 hz;) the lower the freq, the more vibration. i've yet to see anyone else hit that high with a single 15 at that low of a freq. typically you burp at least a 45 hz, usually mid 50 hz and up. i need to meter the 18, but i'd be willing to bet it'll do low to mid 150's pretty easily, but i want to know what it'll do at 30 hz, cause even after all the paint on dampening and layers of mat, all the doors still flex like hell. i don't listen to it at full volume all the time, i'd probably be deaf by now;)

Wake, does the dynamat really make that big of a difference, in your opinion?

it all depends on where you put it;) for testing purposes i removed my rear door panels and played a 30 hz sine wave through my 18. talk about rattles. it sounded like ass. painted the drivers door with the elemental designs paint on dampener and the passenger door with the cascade paste dampener, and no more sheet metal rattle. but now you can hear the window trim on the outside vibrate and the entire door push out and rattle. i'm going to put in some weather stripping for the whole door, and i need to take the window trim off and resecure it. on the doors the dampening made a huge difference. on my floor it made almost no difference. the 2 layers on my roof helped to keep it from vibrating, but IMHO was not worth the effort. concentrate on the doors and trunk quarter panels. removing the rear bumper and dampening that helps a ton, if your bumper shakes like mine did. also replacing the 2 plastic fasteners on the bottom side of the rear bumper with bolts, nuts, and washers secured the bumper sooooooooooo much better. for the trunk lid, in the open voids i used expanding foam, and for the thinner areas i used 2 layers of dynamat extreme. the trunk lid still jumped up almost 1/2 an inch, so i put in some 3/4" foam at the bottom edge to hold it tight.

does dynamat make a big difference, yes, as long as you put it where it is necessary. but keep in mind that many rattles can be fixed with some weather stripping for $2 rather than $100 worth of mat;)

just as a note, with my car running, but only getting about 13 volts input to my amp (bad protege charging system that can't keep up), here are my various SPLs at different freq's:
20 hz = 130.35
30 hz = 133.96
40 hz = 138.67
50 hz = 131.22
60 hz = 137.46
70 hz = 131.95

i'm currently using an ABC enclosure so it peaks a little under 30 hz and a little under 60 hz. the spike at 40 hz is from where my bass cube was boosted at for daily driving. i'm going to equalize it out so that the response is flatter tomorrow. it's nice having so much adjustment from my 30 band EQ;)

Is the Brahma 10" back in there with a 6th order bp box? (spin)

nope, it's the 18 in an ABC (dual chamber, ported) enclosure. but the amp was only putting out maybe 500 watts to the 18 for those measurements(dunno)
