I remember when I first got my Mazda3 hatch back in 2004 there was alot of talk about this mod to free up power at the crank. How would this apply to the 2.3 DISI MZR?
Personally, I wouldn't bother with it. I was barely able to notice the difference on my 05 mazda3, and I guarantee the difference would be virtually undetectable on the speed3/speed6.
it is a shaft that spins at about double the speed of the crank to some what counteract the vibrations the crank may cause. taking it out would be removing some rotating mass thats being driven by the crank. so its freeing power by removing mass.
