Smoky Turbo Fix

I see alot of smoky turbo problems and posts on this site. The voided warranties that follow due to bringing the car in to the dealer along with buying catch cans and doing other things that dont work.

I had the same problem after about 15000 miles and all I have is a race pipe. I would get on it then come to a stop and it would start to smoke. Then it got to a point that just waiting at a light it would smoke. I was really starting to hate the car.

And one more thing to keep in mind. I hear all the time that the first cat burned the oil off and masked the problem. Now does that make any ******* sense to anyone?? If oil burns it smokes I mean you could have 19 ******* cats and if oil burns it smokes the problem is and always has been PSI related.

Anyways I did the rotella 5/50 full syn and still it smoked but in the end what did the trick was the pill. It took about 3 weeks to fully get the s*** out of the manny but now I dont smoke one bit, zero zilch nada.

So to all you retards just go and buy the pill and put it in even if you dont smoke now becaue one day you will. Even if your under warranty Mazda dont have a fix so whats the point unless you smoke when your just driving down the highway which means bad seals.. Everyone should just man the F up and get er done.

I know others have posted this on the site but it really does work well it worked for me. No use going thru reams of posts when this is the only real answer for now sice Mazda has no clue yet to solve the problem or look for a way to void your warranty.

Why spend time bringing it back to stock have them replace a turbo only for it to smoke again. The pill is cheap and it works.

I have heard good results with this fix and I don't think I have read where anyone has tried it and said "Nope, still smokes." I just ordered mine. Now, if only someone would post a how to... (cool)

i still smoke from time to time.

an ecu reset or whenever i put something new to the car it would smoke, though after a few days it would calm down.

How to: pull the breather hose off your valve cover. Insert pill into valve cover. Reinstall hose onto valve cover over pill. Done :)

That I think I can manage. I'll be trying to anyways as soon as I get the pill in the mail.
Thanks!

Sounds like a lot of buyers wish there was a "morning after" pill for this car.
So far (knock on wood) no problems with mine at almost 50k.

I have 41,000 miles on mine and I have no smoke from the turbo. Does the smoke rise from under the hood? Or does it come out the exhaust? I sometimes when I drop gears and floor it I see a small exhaust puff but even keeping it floored it goes away.

36k here and no smoke either. Just some condensation at start-up.

Like the other guy said, i just notice a small puff when really pushing it but TBH i don't know if it was my imagination. It always seem to happen in tunnels but it's a bit hard to see the smoke lol.

I guess that's good hehe.

Similar here. Condensation at start up, puff when I romp on it. BUT I was at my folks place the other day, FINALLY had the time and motivation to pull the CAI apart and re-align it so the recirc pipe of the motor allowed the IC cover to lay flat. Wound it up to make sure I put it back togather right, revved it a few times to make sure, pulled it out and parked it. When I walked back into the garage, I noticed the floor, wall, and storage unit behind the exhaust had oil splattered on it. So when I get into any kind of boost, its blowing oil out the exhaust, hard enough to hit the wall 5 feet away. Im thinking thats NOT good. Thoughts?

Oil? are you sure? I suspect it was carbon deposit and not oil.

maybe I did it wrong, but as soon as I put it in, it smoked like a mother F'er. But not sure how I could have done it wrong. Kind of like screwing in a lightbulb, only one way to do it.

I put this in another thread. I am going to see what the dealer does in the last 7k of my drivetrain warranty but I may try this after I get done with the deal agrees to pay for.

MazdaSpeed3 '07
build date: 03/07
No mods - bone stock

So I have had continuous problems with my car smoking at idle with bluish smoke.

Bought my car in May 07. For about a year it was fine then it started smoking at idle. I took my car to the dealer with about 27k miles on it and they replaced the whole turbo. My invoice says the newer turbo kit was used (L3Y1-13-70ZB). For about year this new turbo was OK. Then I started noticing smoke at idle. I sit in traffic about every day so I am at idle or near idle alot. It got so bad that it would start smoking after only 45 sec at stopped idle after the car warmed up. Last month I took it back to the dealer with about 52k miles on it. The dealer was sort of short with me and told me I better have all my oil change records, which I did. So he recreated the smoking with no problem and talked to mazda central. They told him (I am only relying what he told me they said) that he should switch me from the 5W-30 natural oil to 5W-40 synthetic oil and that may work. They also said they mazda was preparing a bulletin that will be released soon and that may be related to my problem. Well, the oil change worked for about 200 miles and it is now smoking again about as bad as it was 2 months ago - so that fix was short lived.

I am calling again today. I am a bit worried they are just stalling til I hit the 60k mile drivetrain warranty expiration.

Any suggestions WRT to working with the dealer so that I get a fix that works long term?

Alot of you guys talk about the smoke on your car like its the first thing you have ever owned. Either that or you have no idea how a car works so here is some info.(moon)

All cars upon start up in the cold will have white smoke. Its normal OK????
All cars smoke brown or black or grey when you romp on them. Non turbo cars do it due to build up of carbon on valves and pistons and our cars also just more black due to runniing very rich. THIS IS NORMAL OK???

I really dont need to have every idiot post how their car smokes upon startup in the cold or when they romp on it or dosnt smoke just to clog up a thread with bulls***.(bicker) Lets face it if your car is running normally the who the **** cares ?? NO The people with a smokey turbo problem care and may need help so lets leave this thread for them.

TO all the guys who have a car with no problems start your own thread and that way you can blow smoke up each others asses.(upbum)

Hey Rumble...

I appreciate your outlook on this fix but you are going to have to tone down the name calling and insults a bit. Nobody here has done or said anything to deserve any of it so if you can leave it out of your posts, I'd appreciate it.
