got any pics of the smoked overlays installed on the "bulge" type tail lights? How hard is it to istall and manipulate the over lay around the bulge.
If you bake them in a conventional oven at 200* for 20min., you should be able to open them up. And when it comes to resealing the lights.. do the same steps, but in reverse.can you tell me how i can split my tail lights, i planned on painting the insides but i couldn't figure out how to take off the clear plastic part so i had to put it back on the car...![]()
Done using black paint and clear. These are the CAR_LED tails too.
Didn't really wanna think about screwing up a $400 set of tails, so I had them professionally done and would highly recommend it.
best way to smoke em is mix clear coat and black car paint at about 2:1 then spray em with it.
i had the same problem. how many coats did you do, and have you done a clear? i did the same and i decided to wet sand them till they were super smooth. turnd out perfect. then i did a high gloss automotive clear. it cost me $27 for the spray can. worked great
Not too sure of this, but it could possibly be the fact that you sprayed the coat too thick, and some of the paint ran and made the lines. I could be wrong...
i warned a few of the ms6 owners about this stuff, i wish i would have seen this thread before you wasted your time
glad you got it fixed
