I know i have seen some smoked rear reflectors online but i just can't see myself paying $70 for them. Has anybody tried any painting solutions and if so, what kind of paint and how were the results? thanks in advance for any help.

yup. nite shades.

yea that's what i was thinking about doing, just wanted to see some results before i tried lol. Is there a certain way to get the reflectors off or pretty much the pry-off method?

Crawl underneath your rear bumper and look at the reflectors. One side will have a piece that you squeeze and then it should pop out. I used needle nose pliers to squeeze it. Be careful not to break it.

when i popped mine off i thought for sure i broke one, but it clipped back in without issue, so don't worry too much about it.

wannabe. how many coats did you use?

i did 3 coats, with a little wet sanding in between to even out any high spots. the first coat went on thicker than i wanted, and the third coat was just a "touch-up" mist to hit the spots i sanded.

How long does it take for the coats to dry?

ridiculously quick actually. like an hour and they were back on the car.

I just did my front side markers this morning.. I am about to pop them back inside the car and see how they look.. Hoping that I didn't go too dark on them..

don't do the headlights.....that drops the light output, and your asking for trouble....

Yeah was thinking about doing a light coat on the taillights but not really sure about it yet..

The headlights will stay as is.. Like wannabe said it decreases light output.. Which is way more important than having your taillights be clear in my eyes..
