New CX5. GT and Iactive sense. I was able to use RACC. Seems smart city braking does not work, was not able to stop car no matter what distance. Is there a way to recalibrate it or its just a random thingy. Do I need to have it checked with a dealer

I don't think it works! I have mine turned on, and one night I pulled into the garage, parked, went to grab some stuff off the seat that I needed take in. Thinking that I had placed it in park, I took my foot off the brake pedal. I don't think its too hard to figure out what happened next! luckily is was a soft enough hit that it did no damage!
There is a reason why mazda took the time to print and place a manual in your vehicle.
Ahh. . .The ole "You should have read your manual" reply. Always one of my faves! (2thumbs)
My opinion of Mazda's Smart City Braking is intended to "minimize" damage..... under certain conditions of course. This appears to be much more passive than Subaru's Auto Braking system which receives the highest IIHS scores for actual "front crash prevention".
Subaru's recalled for that braking system... http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/06/25/subaru-automatic-braking-failure-recall/29279317/
